Re: Most Exciting Teams for Franchise Mode
I am from Toronto and I am curious how they have "average" pitching.... They have an absolutely ridiculous group of young pitchers both in the pen and in the starting rotation. Given that this is a video game you could turn them into a World Series winner in like 3 maybe 4 moves total.Maple Leafs ][ Blue Jays ][ Raptors ][ Bears

Re: Most Exciting Teams for Franchise Mode
Looking to perhaps trade Arenado for Teheran, Cashner or Keuchel idk. I'm also looking at team what needs a good 3B. To make it more realistic of course. I got McMahon as a good 3B prospect to take the reigns over from Nolan. Also need a good CP. So I might trade for Holland if the Royals aren't pushing for playoffs near the end of the season. Maybe get moustakas and a SP/RP as well.Comment

Re: Most Exciting Teams for Franchise Mode
Let me geek it up a bit
I've had the same problem every single year...how do you determine what team to run with. As much as I enjoy reading threads like this to get valuable input, I needed to put some sort of numbers down on a paper to help me decide. Back in 2013 when playing The Show 13, I came up with this spreadsheet: http://1drv.ms/1FAI3hC
Let me break it down for you and how everything is valued on a scale of 1-5 where 5 is GREAT/FUN and 1 is BAD/NOT FUN.
The K-Law column is on the 1-30 scale and is just where ESPN Insider Keith Law ranked each organisations MiLB system heading into the season.
Roster: on a scale of 1-5, how fun is the current MLB roster to play with?
Prospects: on a scale of 1-5, how fun are the current team prospects to develop and build around?
Ballpark: on a scale of 1-5, how much do you enjoy playing in that teams ballpark?
Division: on a scale of 1-5, how much fun do you find it to play against the other teams within the same division?
IRL: on a scale of 1-5, how realistic is it that the current GM would be fired and be replaced with "you"?
Gear: on a scale of 1-5, how much do you like the team uni's?
Age: on a scale of 1-5, how old is the current MLB team meaning how likely are you to have to start a rebuilding process?
Trade: on a scale of 1-5, how much trading would you have to pull off to make the team a contender?
This all leads up to your TOTAL and your AVG of those aforementioned values. You decide if you want to sort by the total or average when making your decision. For me, it looks like I'll be playing with the Brew Crew, Phillies or Angels.
If you can't decide between two teams stuck on the same total/avg. Roll a dice or do what I do when drafting fantasy baseball in March and it comes down to pitchers: "when in doubt, go NL over AL"
(The values currently in the spreadsheet reflects my personal opinion and is based on the OSFM v1 release for The Show 15.)
Use the spreadsheet if you want...I find it to be a fun exercise to play around with though and hopefully it'll help you make a decision.Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: Most Exciting Teams for Franchise Mode
I've tried several different teams but always return to my first love my hometown Jays.
Nothing beats competing with a team you truly care about, though I still want to play with a N.L. team I just can't decide.
I like everything about the D-backs but just hate their uniform options.MLB: TORONTO BLUE JAYS
NFL: MINNESOTA VIKINGS
NHL: TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS
NBA: TORONTO RAPTORSComment

Re: Most Exciting Teams for Franchise Mode
I have been going back and forth about who to use also. I have trouble running with the Marlins, because when I am doing bad, I take it much harder and get so frustrated I can't play. That's why I usually never play with my favorite team.
So last night I started a franchise as the Cubs, but wasn't sure how I would feel. Then I had an incredibly exciting game to open the season, down 2-0 since the first inning going into the bottom of the 9th. After coming back to tie the game 2-2, we went tot he 11th Inning, when I hit a solo shot by rookie 3B Bryant to win the game.
I had so much fun, that I think I will stick with them for my franchise and see if I can get them to win the WS.Comment

Re: Most Exciting Teams for Franchise Mode
So I restarted my franchise three time I was Red Sox and Yankees. Now I'm again the Yankees and I just lost arod. Depending how long he is gone I might restart again and pick the DodgersComment

Re: Most Exciting Teams for Franchise Mode
I think the worst team for a franchise in terms of a rebuild are the Phillies... With how stupid the AI GMs are you can re-tool the team in about 5 minutes and win a series as well as set yourself up for years to come. With the ability to trade Hamels, Lee, Howard, Ruiz, and Sizemore every single team in the game is willing to give up just about anything you could want. I know Atlanta was ok with throwing me Simmons and Freeman for Hamels and some scrub prospect.
I hope at some point the AI gets an overhaul in terms of trades.Maple Leafs ][ Blue Jays ][ Raptors ][ Bears
