Ok, i HATE WORKAROUNDS but i think i have one for people having problems hitting changeups and offspeed pitches, i know this might seem kinda like cheating but it will raise your batting average, turn on guess pitch, and guess fastball every pitch/ every other pitch, if it doesnt blink read you know it will be a slower pitch, i dont do this anymore but i did a week ago and it helped, now i dont need it cause i smash. This is on timed hitting with directional hitting on, but im sure it would work with other batting methods, and i play on allstar everything, im not sure if you can turn guess pitch on in legend mode. Btw, if you think this will help you out to much, do it every other pitch, also, just because you know a four seamer isnt coming doesnt mean you will be on everything, you still have other fastballs and sinker to look out for, so it will help but not as much as you might think.

I think the answer is right there. Im playing my franchise from 14 on 15 and I thought there was a slight difference in the timing. Ive been more late than usual on the fastball, but the change ups and curveballs have been driving me freakin nuts. Its as if the pitch just dies in front of the plate.

I think the timing window is fine. I have noticed fastballs have been harder to hit for me lately and I think that's more to do with the off-speed pitches throwing off my timing. I play on Dynamic Difficulty, so when I first got the game, I saw a lot of fastballs and had no issue pulling the ball, hitting HR's, etc.

Now that I'm on All-Star, the change ups, curves and sliders come in noticeably slower than fastballs, so of course you mentally adjust and then a 95-mph. fastball comes sailing in and you think your timing is good, but in reality, you are a fraction or two late and wind up popping the ball up or missing all together.

Hitting feels a touch harder than last year, which isn't a bad thing, imo.

Is that's what's happening, the PCI is still in effect even in timing/directional? What's the use of good timing then? I know in past years with Pure Analog, you could get good something of a slight boost on PCI placement with good stride and swing timing. Is it all attribute-based the way the PCI functions with directional, or is there a way to get good results with proper user input?

Could this really be a YTY save issue? I'm playing my continued franchise from '14 as well.

I have to agree with most of the people on this thread. I play MLB 14 (and every year since 06) with All Star settings for multiple seasons in RTTS and my spray chart is dead pull on 14 with more than 55% of my hits are to the pull side for my switch hitter. Most of these are from fastballs.

In MLB 15, I just finished 1 season of a new RTTS guy I created from fresh and at All Star setting and have him at almost the exact level as my MLB 14 guy (mid 80s contact and mid 50s power). I was called up on June 3rd, 2015, so I have over 400 at bats in the majors and I am still late on almost every single fastball and very early on a majority of breaking balls. My opposite field spray chart is more than 40% since I cannot even consciously pull the ball.

I've played over 100 games so far and I have yet to find the correct timing window. I thought it was just me, but reading this thread, it seems it may not be.

I will say the timing window does seem to be a bit smaller, with that said I think I just need to adjust and play more strategically. Using the directional hitting will help with this a lot, be patient get in to good hitters counts pick a side of the plate and when you get the pitch you are looking for 7 times out of 10 you will get a hit. I haven't touched the sliders and play on all-star. I do agree that the window does seem smaller but I just think it's for the best, I still have games where I score 10 runs and games where I score 1 run.

I dont have a problem getting hits in the game. It's hitting home runs that is driving me crazy. I have 3 home runs in 30+ games with a RTTS with 99 contact and power. I dont know what else to do. He gets solid hits but they are just line drives to the wall. One of the three hr's was a no doubter, but the other two are line drives. If i hit a ball solid and looks like it is going to go out, it just dies at the wall. thats probably happened at least 20+ times. Does anyone else have this problem?

I seem to have zero timing this year because of this and it's killing some of the enjoyment of the game.

Baseball games aren't very much fun when you can never hit well.
