I do both.

Offline - Auto Field/Manual Throw - I love auto fielding my franchises etc. Player ratings and stats are my primary driver.

Online - Obviously I field. And it's a ton of fun finally on The Show.

Fielding this year is really smooth and has been a major surprise for me. I feel right at home with it and have settled in with the feel of getting to fly balls, line drives, rocket gap shots etc.

Last night I stole two homers in CF with Billy Hamilton in my Reds Online Franchise vs the Mariners. I twitched those games so I need to dig up the replays. I jumped outta my chair as it was incredible.


So both. And I may just run one offline franchise with manual fielding just to have at it all on my own.

I think the game play it's best on auto though. The animations are life like and crisp. It brings the best out of the game in that regard.

I feel like im in the twilight zone, this is weird, i hope the devs dont see this poll and think the can relax with improving manual fielding.

They won't. Look at how amazingly improved it is for 15.

Thank god. Because IMO it was unplayable for me prior.

Exactly.

You'll see a lot of Auto on here because we're creatures of habit and fielding was atrocious in the past.

They know it needed work and as you can see, they are dedicated to getting it right!

I like to do my own fielding and throwing. I'm not as good as the cpu. Can't dive and catch the ball yet but it feels good when I pull off a good play.

I am shocked I mean shocked at the results of this so far! I thought hardly any one would do auto fielding. I could never do auto fielding. Doing that would just be boring and you play video games to play video games and that is taking part of the game away but not doing it.

It's personal preference

I don't take any pride in winning or doing well in video games. I just play for fun

Now if we go step onto a baseball field I'm going to try and impose my will. Video games just don't really get the competitive juices flowing for me.

I switched over to Auto fielding/Manual throw in MLB 12 and I haven't looked back. I never minded fielding manually, but man, I've noticed my stress levels have gone down a bunch since making this move. If I misplayed a ball late in a game it'd crush me; now I let the AI handle things and understand the ramifications that come with that.

I tried a few games of user control at the beginning of my time with '15 but went back to auto-fielding. It just makes the game more enjoyable to me. The game has almost always been about the pitcher/batter confrontation to me.

I never understood why anybody would use auto fielding ... and then I tried it last year. And now I use it all the time.

So ratings over stick skill come into play...
That's why i do..
I need to get some play out of it though so I user throw and hit albeit timed hitting.
basically a hybrid MOM setup

RTTS is where I get my control fix..

really surprised so many of you do auto fielding.

Back in the day, World Series Baseball 2K1 on Dreamcast was heavily criticized for having automatic fielding. funny how things change :P

I use auto fielding ......I play as Boston and I lost way to many balls off the green monster when manually fielding, it was rare that I would be able to cleanly play balls off the monster and it would cost me bases and lead to runs for the cpu

Auto fielding is just so smooth and allows me to sit back and enjoy the defensive part of the game instead of getting pissed off

I use both auto fielding and auto running. I would like to to do all of it myself and not use auto, but its just impossible for me now. I do still make the throws on my own, but reflex time and concentration level isn't up to par with all the medicine Im on.


Im really surprised at all the people who do use auto fielding, I figured most didn't use it at all.


Since I started using auto a few years ago, I actually think you get to see some animations that you might not see if you didn't use it.

Auto fielding and throwing. The cpu plays god mode and I want defense to be balanced.

I like the manual fielding, but I prefer auto fielding with manual throwing.
