That might have actually been me and if it wasn't then that is exactly how I've felt. I used to do ONLY my team and the last few years haven't and I've had the exact same feeling as you. Yeah, even in 30-team control I'm only playing MY team's games but somehow having control over everything just clogs up the enjoyment of choosing my team. If I wanted that overseeing interface, I'd play OOTP, you know? I just want a good fun video game of baseball with the option to manipulate rosters. I miss the days of Hardball on the PC when you controlled everything but still chose just the one team to play with and didn't have to see the UI for 30 different teams. I also like the sense that other games are going on at the same time as mine are.

Re: How do you guys do your franchise?
I guess you just have to look at your Franchise/Season as unique and not as something intended to mirror what happens in real MLB - That's just a recipe for frustration! But I would like to see the developers finally fix this by allowing for dynamic roster updates during Franchise/Season mode. That is my dream! For now I'll probably just control all 30 teams and make all the major trades with them however cumbersome that may be.Comment

Re: How do you guys do your franchise?
Do you have to have 30 team control in order to play other games on the schedule? I like playing with player lock of some of my favorite players that aren't on my team throughout the season. Breaks up the monotony of using 1 team with the same players/lineups day in and day out.Arsenal | New York YankeesComment

Re: How do you guys do your franchise?
The past couple of years I've played with 30-team control and had injuries mirror real life as they were on opening day. This year, I decided that was too much work and I just want to play the damn game. I was sick of spending hours fixing rosters and updating injuries and just wanted to start my franchise.
So this year I waited for OSFM v. 1 and went for it. Whatever happens happens and the trades that are made, however ridiculous they may be, will be left alone. I've read a lot of people go with this method and just look at their franchise as their own little world and I'm choosing to go with that mindset this year. I just hope my OCD doesn't kick in and make me start over lol.Comment

Re: How do you guys do your franchise?
I feel the exact same way but while I no longer want to stop play once a month to update rosters and injuries, I also am one of those people who hates the fantasy sports element of the game making its own world, so instead I'm going with opening day and not doing ANY transactions or injuries except major ones and maybe only if a team in real life AND in the game are chasing a playoff spot.Comment

Re: How do you guys do your franchise?
So when the User controls all 30 teams, that means you have to put 'CPU Roster Control' to 'On' right? Otherwise you'll constantly be asked to deal with Injury and Lineup issues throughout the season for all the other 29 teams you won't really be using.Last edited by Pythons80; 04-15-2015, 01:32 PM.Comment

Re: How do you guys do your franchise?
I control one team only. Play every game including spring training. Use quick counts and player lock to play minor league games. that way I can really keep in touch with development. In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Re: How do you guys do your franchise?
I use OSFM rosters, control only 1 team, make my trades at the end of spring training and then add whatever free agents I want that are available and that I have money for. I don't turn on force trades, however, I do turn on instant trades. I don't turn off budgets. Dynamic Difficulty. I play at least one game a series or 1 out of every 6, I pick every player in the drafts for my team. If I have a prospect that I'm trying to build up then I will player lock him and play his minor league games.MLB: Cardinals
NCAA: Sooners
NFL: Titans
NBA: ThunderComment

Re: How do you guys do your franchise?
I feel you. I usually don't like seeing the weird moves made and all that, even regarding lineups and rotations. But I've decided to pretend that my franchise is it's own world, and ignore those things unrelated to my team. I'm not sure if it'll work since I am a stickler for realism but I'm going to try lol.Comment

Re: How do you guys do your franchise?
I make 2 profiles, 1 for my Reds, and 1 for the 29 other teams, that way I control only my team, but can keep a eye out for stupid moves the AI will make. I also follow what is going on IRL, and make trades, transactions, and injuries as they happened IRL. I basically will play all my games as well as all spring training games, will even play several of my minor league team games. Depending on how things are going late in the season, I might end up simming a few games here and there, but for the most part I prefer to play all my games. I also have a tendency, or I guess you would say its being OCD, but I will re sim games to make sure teams IRL are good in this game, and will make sure teams that stink, do the same in my chise, mainly I did it to make sure the cubs suck cause I hate them, not sure how I will do it, if they happen to be good, lol, probably just let them be what they are irl, aint like they will win it all anywayEveryone who exalts themselves will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted- Luke14-11

Re: How do you guys do your franchise?
I just started my Cubs franchise and I plan to play every game. I'm currently 2-2. I know it will take some time but I like the idea of being responsible of every stat in your teamComment

Rule 10 Fantasy Draft
You're only allowed 10 picks in your fantasy draft. The rest you have to start sim. Choose wisely!Comment

Re: How do you guys do your franchise?
Sorry guys I'm new this year to the Show so I know I'm probably in the minority not knowing this, but I was just wondering when is a best time to start your franchise (especially now that it carries over to upcoming years) to have the most accurate rosters for both MLB and the minor leagues? I want to use one of the roster updates that the people on this website put out, but not sure which guy has the best one to use. I was just going to start it after the opening day OSFM one by Ridin , but then someone told me to wait until the hybrid roster is released or someone does a full minors one? Any help is appreciated. Thank youComment
