I was thinking the exact same thing, thinking "oh boy here we go again"
although I have had some very questionable errors and plays happen this year on me. especially being camped under a fly ball for a long time for it to not be caught, that has happen a few times and even in back to back plays causing me to lose the game. but nothing so serious too start throwing controller and what not. the game plays too damn good to be really mad at it.Comment

The game definitely hates me. But that's because it's punishing me for thinking I could play it using the Rockies. With the exception of a handful of games when they tanked right from the beginning, my starting pitching staff has done pretty well in my 6-8 season start (I am only 2-6 in the division). But my relievers have been horrible. Every time I hand off the game from a starter who performed well and I still have a chance to win the game, my reliever (it does not matter who I put into the game), chokes and I end up losing. However, as much as the game hates me and wants to punish me, every once in a while it throws me a bone and lets me win a game here or there and keeps me wanting to come back the next day where the cycle of relief pitcher abuse starts all over. I don't think I am going to lose 100+ games (the game hates me, but it does not loath me). But I am pretty sure I am on track to lose 90+ games and will likely finish last in my division.

Thanks for all the comments guys.. I really appreciate it.. UPDATE.. I got a new controller, and I am no longer grounded. Flowers helped.. but to set the record straight, I really didn't throw it, I think I'm a little to old and mature to throw a perfectly good controller over a video game.. it simply and accidentally flew out of my hand when i jumped up and accidentally knocked the table over. That is exactly what I told my wife. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I mean really. I can't imagine that there is one person here that would get angry, emotional, or upset and make a fool out of themselves over a toy video game. Win,or lose,.. Come on guy's It's just a game.. Isn't it ??? The weird thing is, it has changed the way I play, Stupid as it sounds, I can't get that game off my mind. I go into every game wondering what I am gonna do to lose it. I have lost 5 out of 7 of my last games, At the first sign of trouble, I am pulling my pitcher and making bad decisions, trying to pitch much more careful and walking more batters. Taking pitches i should be swinging at and swinging at pitches I should be taking.. I realize that I am taking the game far too serious and who does that. It is just a fun video game. RIGHT ???? and for Japinad I was playing in Franchise mode.When I do something right, No one ever remembers.

I have noticed that when I've got a perfect game or no-no going, that the umps start to all the sudden squeeze me more than in the beginning of the game, forcing me to throw hittable pitches to get strikes, (batter gets more hits).

I use meter pitching and it seems like every time the sweet spot line gets thicker (because I have been pitching well) trouble is just around the corner.
It's supposed to make it easier to hit the sweet spot, I think, but in my case I seem to get worse.
Probably just a case of 'regressing to the mean'.Comment

I got mad at the game last night. I am in a tight back and forth game between the Rockies who I am controlling and the Padres where the lead keeps changing inning after inning. In the middle to late innings of the game, I have a 1 run lead and I am fielding with 2 outs and a Padres runner on first base with a 2-2 count on the batter. My pitcher throws a pitch that is clearly over the plate and well within the strike zone, but the umpire calls it a ball. I could not believe my eyes. I was even tempted to post a replay of the pitch asking "How could this possibly be a ball". But of course I have the variable umpire setting turned ON, so controversial calls from the umpires do happen sometimes in my favor and like last night sometimes against me. Anyway on the next 3-2 pitch the Padres Will Middlebrooks crushed the ball out of the park giving the Padres back the lead. I should have been out of the inning but instead I am now behind, plus while I did not give up any more runs that inning, my pitchers gave up 2 more singles after the homerun before I swapped pitchers and got the 3rd out. Yes I was mad at the game, not mad enough to throw my controller, but mad nonetheless. However the game did throw me some love in the late innings. It was a roller coaster back and forth sort of game with no shortage of offense from either team and I managed to regain the lead in the late innings and prevailed. I don't know how the real world managers keep their cool. Of course sometimes they don't ... hahaComment

So I'm a ER nurse & I work 4 days on & 4 days. I work from 10pm to 10am. My wife is a junior high English teacher in her first year teaching full time. We've been married for six months & been together since we are 17. She's slowly learned since we moved in together a couple of years ago that the angriest I'll ever be is when I'm watching the Giants or 49ers play & when I'm playing MLB The Show. I too have been a victim of stupid error/hits when I have had a perfect game going.

it's obviously a passion of yours and we admire your honesty, I guarantee we can all relate to this.
Just because we aren't professional athletes does not mean we aren't good enough, it's just a matter of opportunity which most of us did not get.
I laugh at people who say "who cares if you are good at a videogame?"
But who cares if somebody is good at hitting a baseball in real life? Both are as meaningless as the other, just on a bigger scale.
Only until we can immerse ourselves in something completely can we truly see our own true nature, and only then can we change it. ONLY THE BRAVE MY FRIEND

I had a perfect game for 7 1/3 on All-Star with Bob Friend classic rosters and 3-0 lead. I'm thinking this is too easy. My two previous games I pitched good using Nolan Ryan once and pitching a 2-0 shutout. Son of a gun I blow the perfect game and give 7. Friend had only threw like 68 pitches but I keep him in and finally take him out. So I try to throw Ryan next game playing as Houston. Ten runs yielded in 2 and a third. Can't get anyone out now the the next three games with starters since I put that "too easy thought" in my head. i shift over to DD same thing happens with Cashner. So I throw some 57 relief dude named Ryan Nobody Demmerlin or something like that. He mops up throwing 4 innings of 1 hit ball with no energy. I make a comeback with bases loaded and Todd Fraser DPs to end the game. Love the emotional roller coaster of this game.Steelers, Penguins, Penn State, Pirates, Red Sox, Manchester United.Comment
