I just played a game against the Mets that I literally struck out 21 times. First time I have ever thrown a controller at the wall. I won the game 1-0 in 14 innings but it didn't matter. Never been so pissed after a win. I am using a roster with pitch speed edits too and some of these guys are still superhuman. I went 0-6 with 6 strikeouts with Cameron Rupp in the game. Are you kidding me? The game before that one I struck out 15 times against the Nationals. Through 7 games in my Franchise I have struck out 73 times. Just ridiculous.

I feel your pain. Until a roster with pitch edits is released, I refuse to play. I simply wasn't enjoying the game. It is so incredibly aggravating. Always early on the change. Yet, late on fastballs because I continue to look for the change, even though I can't hit it. I would guesstimate the average difference between a MLB fastball and change is 6-7 mph. However, with the current roster, its probably 12-14 mph. The difference is night and day. I'm always in a worse mood after a game, than before. So for the time being, I just don't play.

Yeah, I am having trouble with the changeup too. The pitch speed differential is a problem for me, but it is more the movement of the pitch. I just can't hit the low changeup that the CPU keeps spamming me with. The ball just completely drops off the table and I end up swinging at pitches in the dirt LOL.

I love the game, just wish the off-speed stuff thrown around the knees wasn't so impossible to distinguish.

Seems like a cop out to me. I want a 99+ MPH fastball to actually feel and look like a 99+ MPH fastball. I just don't want guys with 99+ MPH fastballs to have 78 MPH changeups and 68 MPH curveballs. Lowering the pitch speed doesn't change the fact that the fastball/off-speed stuff is completely overblown in this game.

Having huge troubles with them too this year, with the offspeed stuff in general I have to say.

Any tips on hitting this pitch, or is changeups just OP?

I agree, 55...it's not really solving the problem; my hand-eye coordination adjusts to the "normal" speed of a pitch but the variance between fastball and changeup speed isn't adjusted nor does it give me more time to recognize the difference.

The only thing pitch speed does (in my experience) is provide more time to discern zone location -- not pitch recognition.

It helps me with pitch recognition a great deal.

But I digress. I simply provided what helps the game be more enjoyable for myself. Don't really care if you guys use it or not or think it's a cop out. It's a video game which is nothing like actually hitting a baseball in real life.

I will concede that the slower the pitch, the more it is easier to recognize some of the pitches...but primarily breaking pitches.

I played 2013-2014 on a pitch slider of +1 however being the changeup and fastball have similar "looks", the only pitch recognition one would find in game is that the pitch is either faster/slower than you expected (depending on if you expected a breaking pitch, fastball respectively).

I think that it is a little ridiculous that almost every pitcher falls in love with their change-up (even if they don't have a good one!!). Has anyone considered turning off the pitcher "confidence"? Are we able to do that?

Perhaps that would make the pitchers use their higher rated pitches more often instead of the often maxed out/lower rated off-speed pitches...

The entire thing is just plain ridiculous and is killing all enjoyment of this game for me. I have never been so frustrated with a Show game ever.

Its rough. I played two games on Saturday. First game, I struck out 12 times. The second, only three times. I'm optimistic. Feelin myself a little. Played a game yesterday. Blam!!!! Struck out 15 times. This game is so cruel.

Why does the CPU never throw a bad changeup? They are never up in the zone. Rarely outside of the width of the plate. And always within a few inches of the knees. However, half of the changeups I throw (using classic) end up between the batter's waist and shoulders. Its infuriating.

Seriously. I had 2 games the other day where I struck out 21 times in 14 innings and 18 times in the other. Been a few 11 and 15 strikeout games mixed in too. I have played 13 games in my Franchise so far and have struck out 133 times.

I understand strikeouts happen and are part of the game. Not saying I should never strike out. Just saying I have never struck out this much in any Show game ever. Especially in such a small span of time too. It is beyond infuriating.

How are your games coming along with QuestGav's pitch edits?

I'm curious because I saw Willard's roster with pitch edits won't be out for another minimum 2-3 weeks and I didn't want to wait that long. So I am debating on whether I should do the inputs myself.
