I feel this is especially the case with the fielding complaints and things of that nature in this game. People want a "realistic" game, but when they are faced with the realism of not every play being perfectly made they suddenly aren't that interested in realism.

Yep. This game is one of the few sports games I've played that has realistic mistakes.

Guys that try to take extra bases too much, botched fielding plays, chasing trash in the dirt - and now the fielding mistakes are more tied to ratings and in a realistic way (reading the ball and taking differing routes). I see a big difference in, say, Carlos Gonzalez in LF vs Stanton in RF with fielding deep fly balls. Finally, I can see fielders actually "outrunning their mistakes" in a more realistic way.

That, carry over saves, and improved ball physics (loving this too), and a directional hitting system that actually matters (the "influencing" never worked well enough for me, but this new system does - I'm actually really hitting over 50% of balls in the air with Chris Davis and close to Yelich's 60% on the ground).

I have already played over 180 games both on and offline.

This years game is hands down the GOAT. Not only is offline franchise better than it has ever been, not only is the on field game better than it has ever been, but online has opened the pandora's box for me.

Diamond Dynasty and Online Franchise has simply made it impossible for me to take this game out of my console......ever. I have not stopped playing since release.

User fielding this year is on the level I had been waiting for since this games debut.

Ball physics are off the hook.

Ball spins and pitch recognition is amazing.

The lighting....omg the lighting!

Incredible game despite some bugs.

One thing I'd like to add. it's something I absolutely love about mlb 15.

Year to year saves I had decided probably wasn't going to be something I ended up using for my franchise. Early on this year it became apparent that current trades and signings, updated ratings and player faces mattered more to me than being able to continue from last year seeing as I generally play all my games every year and don't make it very deep in a franchise after year 1 anyways.

With that being said year to year saves is absolutely dynamite for RTTS. I haven't really gotten in to RTTS the last few years. About 4 years ago I had a CF that ended up getting traded to Kansas City early on in his career. That year I learned about needing 6 years of service time to become a free agent and really pushed and put in time to make it to the Blue jays after year 6. I ended up making it to half way thru year 5 before I got bored. Honestly I nevery got the urge to invest much time in that mode again after that.

Fast forward to last year. I started a CF got drafted by San Diego and within the first half of year 1 I realized I didn't want to go through the huge undertaking of building up this guy and switched my focus back to franchise.

This year after about 100 games in franchise I decided to load up my RTTS from last year and see if I could get into it. I'm absolutely loving it currently have made it half way thru year 3. I like how it is kinda my own little "fictional" baseball universe. I still have martin on the pirates as well as numerous ridiculous trades that have happened. Edwin Encarnacion is on the nationals with about 3 other good first baseman lol. But you know what I don't care. Franchise is where I go to get my realistic fix.

I really think with year 2 year saves I'm going to try and make a whole carreer out of this player. I know for a fact that their is no way that would ever happen without year 2 year. So for that I'm very thankful.

Excellent post OP.

I have played the Show for years now and it is the game every year I get excited about. Past years I have maybe completed 1 season in franchise over all that time as I get distracted or take some time from the game but this year hasn't felt that way. I am in the last week of August in my franchise and 2.5 games out (was 6 but have been on a winning streak of late.)

What I love about this year it feels more challenging especially pitching side. I get so frustrated at times but I blame myself for bad pitches or maybe sticking with one strategy one batter too long. I feel rewarded more than ever when I win. Easily will finish one season this year and most likely start a 2nd and see how far I get.

You know the not complaining goes both ways. The problem is that every other sports game favors every kind of player the way it should really be where as this game only favors the "sim" players. The problem is that people refuse to accept the fact that the majority of players are casual players and that not every body plays the same way as you. Nba 2k15 is good because you have options.

Not to derail this thread but I didnt use quick counts last year due to being placed in some deep holes to start with but this years iteration in QC's has me using it exclusively for my offline franchise. Considering how limited I am with gaming recently, the changes made to QC's is a blessing.

Since the PS4 is in the living room with our main TV, I rarely attempt to play when we're both home at the same time. I usually stay up a couple of hours later at night, so I just wait for her to go to bed before firing up the PS4.
