I started a Franchise with the Pirates for fun. I am simulating every 5-6 games so I use a different pitcher every time. I am also playing every game against the division leader trying to keep the standings close.

Re: Simulating in Franchise?
I've done it two ways:
1) Play one game per series (usually the day games since I like the look of day lighting) and try to use a relative variety of starters. This is fun if you want more control over your stats.
2) Pick one starter and play all his starts (KingV2K3 turned me on to this method). This is fun because it allows you to move through multiple seasons more quickly and it allows you to take full ownership of one starter's stats, making it slightly more immersive in that way.
I'm currently doing #2 and am having lots of fun.
For simmed games, though, I actually go through the pitcher and lineup select screens and go into the game. From there, I hit exit and sim to the end. This allows me to stay involved in lineup management, whereas straight simming will put your bench coach in charge of off days and lineup shuffling. I don't like to leave that to chance, so I do it myself.Comment
