Factors controlling counts in quick counts

Does anyone know if/what stats and attributes go into deciding the count in QC?

I ask because in my experience the AI consistently gets better counts when using QC; ~75% of the time, I come to the plate with a 1-1 or 0-2 count and the AI comes to the plate with a 3-2, 3-0, or 2-1 count. Even if I have better batting and pitching, I still get poorer counts.

Besides the edge for the AI in getting quality strikes, this also leads to my pitcher exiting sooner (3-5 pitches already thrown vs. the AI's 2).

    Any insight would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure they are totally random except for the pitchers 1-1 count.

Nope. At least it's not supposed to be. Theres supposedly an algorithm that decides what the count will be depending on the attributes of the pitcher and the batter. It was said in an MLB 14 promotional video last year.

This is what I had believed. Or at least it was supposed to work that way. I just played a game where I had 3 CPU batters in a row come to the plate with a 3-0 or 3-1 count against Sonny Gray. Then the top of the next inning, I had 3 batters in a row come to the plate with a 0-2 or 1-2 count, against a low-70's rated reliever for Seattle. The algorithm may be there, but I think there is still too much randomness often times. Like the effects of the player ratings aren't quite strong enough.

This is from The Show Nation website: http://theshownation.com/guides

NEW' 'Quick Counts' allows you to significantly speed up games with much shorter at-bats. Instead of starting counts on 0-0, counts will start on middle and late counts. The most common starting counts are 1-1 and 2-1, followed by the 3-2, 2-2, and 1-2 counts. Pitcher versus batter attributes have an influence on how often 3-0 vs 0-2 counts show up, but every batter will see each count. There is a small balancing bonus that helps a batter put the ball into play more often, to compensate for the reduced number of pitches he'll see in an at-bat. Overall, you'll see an increase in strikeouts and base on balls balanced by fewer fouls. Every pitch you throw will be more critical, because there are far fewer of them.

Yeah....I didn't think they were attribute dependent.

I do notice that closers who are dominant tend to come in with better counts than bad starters.
