I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

The Show is a good looking game, but its nothing groundbreaking. I don't understand how the PS4 can't handle the uniforms in the ASG. With the hardware inside of it, I really don't get it.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

It's probably because they are developing for the PS3 still. The games are remarkably similar considering the power difference of the machines. If they developed exclusively for PS4 it would be much different, just like every game. It will get better as the years go and the PS4 will move further ahead of the PS3 verison. There are enough PS3 users still that they probably don't feel an incentive to put a feature like that in for one machine, and the memory limitations of the PS3 wouldn't let it happen for that system.Comment

I just want to see the fan reactions to walk-offs/big plays improve. Seeing every fan throw their hands up in unison is one of the coolest things that happens in sports. No video game has simulated this well, in my mind, and I think it would go a long way in creating more immersion.
Hitting a walk-off HR might be the best feeling in sports... I want to see it translated a little better in the game. The initial rise of the fans as the ball leaves the bat, followed by the enormous roar when it lands in the stands, with all hands in the air and people going nuts. Maybe some "liquid refreshments" spraying around.
Make a few different levels.. one when for a mid-June game when the stands aren't quite as full, one for a big divisional game, then a "playoff atmosphere" version that is the loudest and most raucous.Last edited by Jr.; 06-24-2015, 12:08 AM.Comment

One little thing i would like to see improved with the commentary is have them mention how a pitcher is doing in a season and mention a few of there stats if there leading in a category.
Example is i am having a great/unexpected season with colby lewis in my franchise,9 and 1 from 12 starts but there has been nothing mentioned/acknowledged about it during the game at all.Still get the exact same pitcher intro whether its the start of the season or at the mid point.Comment

I wouldn't mind seeing a rain delay, or a postponed game with a double header the next day. It adds another aspect to the game and how to manage your roster so you don't exhaust your players.
I would also like to see batting practice where you just get 20 straight pitches with no situations or bat control. It's still listed as an option when you begin batting practice but it was taken out a couple years ago.
*It was called open practice. I shows up on the loading screen for batting practice. I submitted a bug report last year and this year with no response.Last edited by saucerset; 06-24-2015, 11:38 AM.Comment

Re: What are some 'little things' you would like to see in The Show/
Things I'd like to see:
Better player generator - Let's face it. The rookie players generated by the CPU are pretty dumb looking a lot of the time. Players are wearing all sorts of wacky looking equipment. I get tired of having to edit my players appearances just so they don't look ridiculous in game. How many players wear only one batting glove in the league? How many wear none? How many players wear high/low stirups, or 'tight' pants, or wristguards along with long compression sleeves under 3/4 inch sleeves/ above elbow sleeves? Plus, all the faces, no matter how 'different' they are just don't feel like much variance in player appearances. Plus, I see too many times a player is ridiculously undersized. Like Jose Altuve small. 5'7 and 170 pounds playing catcher or 1st base. Just don't think you see that much in real life.
Better Scouting - This is an obvious. It wasn't until yesterday reading through these forums that I found scouting to be absolutely pointless in every way. If you set scouting on Manual and simulate to the draft without assigning any objectives through your scouts, you will be given the exact current and potential rating with players who have not been scouted or discovered. I don't know how long this has been an issue, but I know for 3 years I've been surfing this site for tips on scouting and seeing a number of posts relating to it, only to find out you will be given fully scouted stats for players without scouting a single one? Very disappointing to say the least.
Better graphics - I know some have mentioned this and it most definitely is being worked on I'm sure, but the graphics and/or game engine need to be improved. I'm not even one of those guys that cares too much about the graphics. I would prefer better gameplay, but I can make an exception for The Show. 2 years now on the PS4, and the most I can differentiate with the 2 versions is the size of a players beard is more detailed on the PS4. While the graphics have been top of the line for years (and despite the old saying don't try and fix what isn't broken), it's time for an upgrade.
Player ratings deep into franchise mode - This has also been brought up before, but I'm just reiterating. Pitchers become ridiculously overpowered when you get deep into career mode. There's too many with high ratings and it's almost impossible for a pitcher to not improve to at least an 85 in his career. Too much emphasis, in my opinion, is based on the H/9 rating for pitchers. Right now, 5 years into franchise with the Braves, I have all my pitchers (CP, RP, and SP's) training their 'makeup' because literally no other stat matters, outside of maybe the control rating. Velocity and Break sure don't. And it doesn't seem like K/9, B/9, and HR/9 don't either. Hell, one franchise I was playing, I looked at the top ERA's from pitchers in the league and found 30 of the top 40 pitchers listed with ERA's well below 2.50. Batting averages take a huge dip along with is, and in turn, negatively affect position players progression. You'll be hard pressed trying to find a decent outfielder in the draft that you won't have to wait 10 years before he's even MLB ready, even if that player is a 'guaranteed' blue-chip prospect. In the first season with default rosters, the top 10 hitters are usually batting well above .300. Couple years into it and you'll only get 1-3 guys who finish the season with .300 or more. I feel like this all comes back to pitchers being too overpowered deep into franchise.
Better player management from CPU controlled teams - This has become much more glaring in recent years. The CPU just doesn't know how to properly manage their teams most of the time. Deep in franchise, it won't be uncommon to see teams with 13 pitchers on their roster with 12 position players. Most teams have no closers or have 6 closers serving as RP's. If a player is traded to a team before, during, or immediately after Spring Training, some teams will take those newly acquired players off their 40-man, putting them on irrevocable waivers and giving me the chance to easily get those players back after trading them away for prospects. I even had a team trade away 3 prospects for one of my 90 rated pitchers only to see that team take said pitcher off their 40-man (instead of a lower rated player to make room for the pitcher) and allowing me to place an irrevocable claim on said pitcher and get him back. Then, as a test, I reclaimed that pitcher, went back to the trade screen, proposed a trade for future prospects with the same pitcher, and sure enough, the very same team that traded for him before were willing to give me 3 MORE future prospects for that pitcher. I accepted the trade, only to once again see that team take the pitcher off his 40-man and back on waivers, where I... you guessed it... put another claim on him and got him back. Meaning that team gave me 6 future prospects for literally nothing. Also, after Spring Training is over, and you send guys back down to the minors, you MUST check your pitching rotations for all your minor league teams because the CPU will automatically put RP's and closers in the starting rotation while your starting pitchers on in the dugout. I've simmed a whole season before only to realize after my AAA team had a RP in the starting rotation the whole year because I didn't check the rotations after Spring Training.
Some of these are bigger than 'little things', I know, but these are some of the most glaring I've noticed with the large amount of time I've spent playing this game. I just don't want to see this game become another Madden type where they begin to rest on their laurels just because there's no longer any competition in town. With the amount of detail put into this game, not only 'on the field', but 'off the field' as well, this has easily been one of, if not the top sports game for years. I don't even enjoy baseball as much as other sports and I still have a blast playing. I just want to see them continue to improve on the amazing work they've accomplished over the years and not get neglectful because there's no more sense of urgency to get it right.Comment

Re: What are some 'little things' you would like to see in The Show/
Another thing I would like to see in future versions is the ability to copy a players equipment appearance to all players on your squad (i.e. shoe style and color scheme, wearing both batting gloves, etc.) instead of having to go through and change each player individually. For me, I'm the kind that likes to pick a single favorite shoe and color scheme and change all the players on my MLB roster to them and also like having all my players wear both batting gloves to the plate. For some reason, it just irks me when I see a batter with only one or no batting gloves. Don't know why. But going through and editing 25 players just to change shoes becomes tiresome and too time consuming. Not a big deal, but one little thing I would like to see added.Comment

-More dynamic stat commentary that focuses on stats and not just a generic description of team/player form for franchise games. In NBA 2K, the commentators will talk about actual stats from the previous game or how past match-ups (even from the past season) went appropriately and not in regular, predictable pattern. With The Show, for example, the bit they added this year about team form in franchise becomes stale quickly because of how expected/predictable it is i.e at the the beginning of the game. The same applies to the commentary lines about the use of the slide-step. Another improvement to commentary would be having the guys actually come back to a topic after a big play.
-Postseason insignia on hats, etc.
-Better, more varied player and umpire models
-Real-world advertisements inside the ballparks, though this is probably complicated due to brand rights/moneyComment

Reminded me....I'd also like to see players automaticity wear stirrup (or at least high) socks when I use throwback jerseys. Just isn't the same w/ out them...and as you said, too time consuming to edit 25 guys to have high socks, only to have to re-edit them after the gameComment
