Playing as the Rangers, opening day in Oakland. Yu Darvish on the mound and he's dealing. Dealing so well that its 24 up and 24 down, with 6 strikeouts. I've never had a perfect game going this far into a game in all my years of playing this game. My hands were freaking shaking.
My offense was clicking too, i was up 5-0 and had pounded out 17 hits, so I knew I was bringing Darvish back out (only at 89 pitches) to finish off this perfecto. The camera angles were awesome, as they would start with a close-up on Darvish and start to pull away to a stadium wide shot, indicating the importance of the moment. Vasgergian talking about "what can be going through his mind right now?". It was an awesome ambience.
My cutter away to righties had been devastating them all night. I dealt one to Canha to lead off...and he freaking crushes it over the wall. Location was perfect right in the bottom corner.
Wow. Just like that. Killer. Well, I can still finish off the win.
Darkish walks Lowrie and Zobrist singles. Okay, time to bring in Tolleson to close this thing out. Tolleson walks Burns and its bases loaded with Crisp up.
Tolleson can't find his groove and serves up an 3-RBI double that barely stays fair in the RF corner. Time to bring in Feliz.
Feliz immediately serves up a RBI double to Vogt and Oakland's miraculous 5-run 9th, a 9th inning they were coming into having a perfect game pitched on them, is complete.
Guys, I'm not kidding. I was hitting my spots pitching. I'm not saying the game robo-beat me, but I've never been part of a game where there was more evidence.
To wrap it up, I hit a HR in the top of the 10th to take the lead, but they loaded the bases AGAIN in the 10th, and won it on a 2 RBI double from Reddick.
Dagger. Just had to share because my wife doesn't care, and none of my local friends game anymore. I know you all will understand.
