How do I get better at this game
I want to use zone hitting because I'm in control and it is what the good players to use, but I can't track pitches, I try to, but can't track exactly where it goes and if I'm do I'm either early or late with the swing. I try to leave it somewhere and that doesn't work. I,play online so if tips could pertain to online that'd be greatTags: None -
Re: How do I get better at this game
For online play, people tend to fall into patterns. Pick up on these patterns and sit on a spot that they've been using in a certain situation if you know what I mean...Comment

Just play more. There is no magical formula...no one camera angle...no one approach. Everyone is different. Like any other pursuit the answer is practice practice practice. Play more.
I know it is not the answer you are looking for, but it is the answer.Comment

First of all there is no 'magic' fix that you seem to want people to give you.
I would suggest
1. Move away from playing online for now.
2. Lower the difficulty for offline play.
3. Play numerous exhibition games to see how pitches come in from pitchers and train your eye to differentiate from what is good to hit and what is a ball.
4. Once you are getting hits/runs on a regular basis...crank up the difficulty until you can do it on the higher levels.
5. Go back to online play.Comment

I'd agree with most of that. I'm sure you probably don't want to quit playing online though.
My advice would be to switch to timing until you can read pitches better. Believe it or not you still have to read them well to be good at timing. If you're trying to pull the ball it doesn't do much good for you if its a fastball on the outer half. Likewise, inner half fastballs don't turn out too good if you try to go opposite field with them by swinging a hair late.
Once you get great at timing things the way you want, add zone.
I for one am perfectly happy with the challenge of timing. I enjoy that it is player attributes that determine where the PCI goes on a swing. Better players hit better. Worse players hit worse, even if I hit the same. This happens in zone too of course, but the effect is more pronounced in timing mode.
But yea. There's no magic formula. You just have to play a lot. This is my 3rd year with the game and I have made it to somewhere around AS/HOF difficulty. Year 1 I was Veteran, Year 2 All-Star. It just takes time.Comment
