Re: Scoring Questions
Possibility 1 (current assumption): Cubs negated the lead and lost in the 9th. Wood, who allowed the 9th run, should've been given the L (given to starter Haren instead). Bug.
Possibility 2: Assuming the 1st, Haren was still pitching and allowed the 8th/9th runs on base, Wood allows them to score (charged to Haren).
Possibility 3: Cubs did not tie the game, loss to Haren (allowed leading run).
We don't know when the opp's 9th run was scored, need more info from the OP.Comment

Re: Scoring Questions
Scenario#1: Did you still have a three run lead or did you score more runs? If it was a three run lead you should have gotten the save, any more then three, then no save.
Scenario#2: Wood should have received the loss he gave up the lead. I was not confused by the post at all.Comment

Re: Scoring Questions
I was assuming that wood was the pitcher from the start of the inning, but if he wasn't, then yes, Haren would get the loss.Comment

Re: Scoring Questions
Like others said, in scenario 1 Rondon should have gotten a save. I've had this happen to me before. The correct pitcher (who pitched the bottom of the last inning got the win) but no save was awarded.
Scenario 2: Haren would get a loss even if he gave up 1 run and Wood gave up 8 as long as the Cubs never tied the game.

In the first scenario, the score was tied and in the top of the 11th, Rizzo hits a 3-run HR. Rondon comes in and closes it out. In my game, Travis Wood (pitched the 10th) got the win and Rondon got nothing. I would have thought Wood gets the win and Rondon the save.
Sorry if I wasn't clear. It was clear in my head when I wrote it...Comment

Re: Scoring Questions
This makes sense. The Cubs never tied it. They got within 1 and then another pitcher gave up two more.

I understood what you meant. Haren getting the loss is the correct outcome!Comment
