Re: Pure Analog Stride 16
I was a 100% analog stride user in MLB14 and like many people I was surprised and bummed that they took it out in 15, but it didn't take me long at all to get used to, and really enjoy, the "stride-less" analog in 15.
Maybe it's because I grew up on the one-button swinging of RBI baseball and Griffey, but I think any swing mechanic that utilizes the analog stick is pretty damn cool. Did you guys even give it a try in 15?

Re: Pure Analog Stride 16
All I'm saying is that I was very disappointed that it was removed as well. Angry even. But I tried out just about all of the hitting options and decided I could live with the new analog. I adjusted the sliders to make it play a great game of baseball and I haven't looked back.

Ha, yeah when I woke up the next morning and saw what I typed I realized it was a bit harsh. However, just because people miss it and complain about it doesn't necessarily mean they throughly tried out the new analog mechanic.

Re: Pure Analog Stride 16
1. Each pitcher had their own windup and therefore different timing as to when to begin your stride. No big deal as that simulates real life.
2. This just may be me, but because each batter had his own unique batting stance and swing animation, for some players the stride and animation didn't fit well together. For example, even if two different hitters were facing the same pitcher, one batter may have an early, high leg kick (which would need to be initiated earlier in the pitcher's windup/delivery) while the other has a quicker, more compact process (and therefore the timing would be later).
For even further clarification, I used the Cubs last year and it seemed like Javier Baez had a more exaggerated stride. I could get my timing down with all my other hitters against a specific pitcher, except for Baez who I had to begin the stride a split second earlier. Personally I found this to be kind of annoying rather than adding to the experience.
I'm guessing that there were too many moving parts for it to work properly consistently. Again, that could just be all in my head. The new mechanic is simple to use and very consistent, and I for one, find it very enjoyable.

Re: Pure Analog Stride 16
I hate how games these days are becoming so vaginafied...holding our hands for us. Baseball should be hard!..i wanna pull my hair out when i'm in a slump cause there is something wrong with my swing that needs to be fixed. I wanna go into the batting cage and take hacks for an hour before i start a game if my timing is off. Its fine for casual gamers to just mash a button if thats your thing and want an easy simplied way or casual experience to enjoy The Show. But others want a simulation..we want it harder..we want to have a sense of hard work pays off. Jays rule!! that is allComment
