Re: Pure Analog Stride 16
Bought a PS4 a few weeks ago and I accidentally purchased MLB 14 on Amazon instead of 15 and when I realized a day later what I had done, I just went with it since MLB 14 was a lot more fun. I am u HUGE fan of the pure analog in the game. It's so much smoother and I like providing the stride myself.Comment

Would be nice if The Show was released on PC so mod makers would put stuff back in that Sony takes out. My PS4 is simply for The Show..nothing else..i call it my baseball machine.Comment

Re: Pure Analog Stride 16
Ramone gave an emphatic no this will not be in the agenda anytime soon already last year. Just don't hinge any hopes on this. I returned 15' and never gave it a try after looking at the case for weeks. I used to feel like alienated for the strong feelings I had about this, but I see it's risen into a more demanding topic. Still, I take them at their word, they don't care about our concern over this so you'll either have to play 14' without it or buy the newer game.Red LegendComment

Re: Pure Analog Stride 16
I don't understand why they wouldn't put it back in. It was previously in the game so whichever code took to allow it recode it back in. People are asking for it so whats preventing Sony from doing so. Gameplay should be the main emphasis of the game and all the eye candy graphics stuff should come second.Comment

Re: Pure Analog Stride 16
Okay, guys this isn't just some simple thing they took out, you realize that right? Pure Analog is completely different than the current analog. It's a completely different mechanic and ties into more mechanics.
Those mechanics are gone. They made a decision, and they're gone. I actually used Pure Analog from the first day possible, then stopped when MLB 15 came out, and I use the current analog now and I love it, and I don't think I would want to go back to Pure Analog now to be honest.
I mean it's been like 8 months. That's plenty of time to get used to the new analog or maybe even a completely different control scheme if you want. It's just really strange to me that this is still being talked about and I was an avid Pure Analog user. Yeah, if analog were to be completely taken out I'd be a little upset, but even then, you can fall in love with any control scheme if you just take the time.
I don't see the developers adding this back in because of the gameplay mechanics that are associated with it that they have moved on from. Even being a user of it, the stride and animation of the batter needed to be worked on anyway.
I understand that feeling of more interaction with the pulling back of the stick and how it just feels like hitting more, maybe. After using the current analog for this year, I can very much say I still feel that. You just need to get used to it, get used to moving the stick left and right when needed etc.
One thing I've noticed is I don't use the power swing as much now as I did with Pure Analog, I'm not so sure if it's just because I feel like this year it's less useful or if I just think the stride for power swing only on the current analog is weird.Comment

Re: Pure Analog Stride 16
The game is improved without the stride and many of you are not thinking it through deeply enough imo. This is the realest that analog hitting has ever been.
Now a power swing takes quick movement on the stick opposed to a contact swing. Your stick is all the way back as you have to decide whether or not to swing, where as the contact swing the stick is in the middle and you have to go half the distance. It's easier. It definitely creates a barrier between the two.
Why? Because there has never been a real difference between power and contact swings. It's just been press X or Square, or preload a power swing by pressing square beforehand...this is better. You guys just need to get better
The stride had become WAY TOO BIG a part of the game and it wasn't fine tuned at all. I bet they bring it back in a few years revamped as they shouldLast edited by coolmusiq; 12-15-2015, 12:38 AM.Comment

Okay dude you're going about this completely the wrong way...did you actually use the stride the proper way?. The stride essentially was used as a timing mechanism..well, for me anyways and for others that fully gotten use to it. When to begin the stride was based on the pitcher's release point..either slightly before release or after release. The fact you're saying get better?..are you for Fing real?. Pressing a button are for the ones that want a simplier way for playing this game..or an easier way. Stride was great cause if a pitch wasn't to you're liking u can pull back and check you're swing. My solution it to improve upon the stride..keep the side to side flick of the stick for slap hits/bunt hits/Tony Gwinn style. Full stride for contact and power.Comment

The purpose of using pure analog should've never even had anything to do with power swings ? Since 12' I can count on my hands how many times I even activated power or contact swing because it never felt necessary. Hitting the ball properly, through lining up your stride and timing is the most important factor determining whether going all out for power or fighting for contact or whatever you're trying to accomplish at the plate. At least that's my opinion and approach to the game when I play.
Even worse, announcing that stride isn't even supposed to be such a big part of hitting. Well unless the player is hitting off a tee, I have no idea how you could ever say that. I don't even know where to begin with this..Last edited by @legendm0de; 12-15-2015, 09:47 PM.Red LegendComment

Re: Pure Analog Stride 16
I'm not going to get my hopes up over the analog stride coming back this year.
Not only was it a terrible decision, it felt almost as if the new system was devised and designed by people who didn't really enjoy or even put much gameplay time into the old pure analog mechanic.
