    1. Love Zone+Analog Hitting with Stride
    2. Love when they added to one year's title the 'Real Broadcast' option...can't remember exactly what it was called but it was when there were no cutscenes...I just knew they were going to take that to the next level, but it seemed to get scrapped
    3. Love the slow pace and realistic approach the game took at the representation of real life baseball; I don't like the fact that things are cut short to speed up the pace of the game when using Broadcast Mode (i.e throw back from catcher to pitcher is interrupted mid throw; certain instances where batter walk-up sequence is truncated; the camera not following fouls into the stands very much anymore)

#3 above is my biggest gripe. I loved the days I could sit back and take in the slow pace of baseball when I had the time (weekends) and only have to hit x to rush through a game when I was strapped for time....because of this, I feel a bit of baseball authenticity was lost with this year's version. But overall, all things considered, I feel this years game is still the best to date.
Ya this is my biggest complaint this year. Leading up up to release I was pretty resigned to the fact that Zone + Analog was dead and I would have to change the only way I ever played the game since I started playing. (Which was MLB 12 and my favourite still)

But I wasn't prepared for all the stripped down broadcast animations, especially in the batters box. One of the reasons I enjoy The Show above and beyond any other sports game is the realistic presentation, and that was butchered very badly this year.

And I don't understand the reasoning behind cutting Broadcast animations at all when there is already a quick play option for those who don't want to sit through walkups, or between pitch animations.

Just leave the option in for those who want it. It's still in the game to an extent, it could easily be added back.If you play Batting Practice from the main menu or within RTTS you get the full animations between pitches just like before, so it's not totally removed.

I remember reading one of the devs saying their "data" suggests people were just mashing X through them all anyway, but not everyone did. And hitting X isn't such a hard thing to do for those that don't want to sit through them. At least leave the option for those that enjoy the slower pace.

Seems like they are getting overly trigger happy with "streamlining" features, which seems to be a trend in the industry at the moment.

MLB '15 is my #1 favorite for sure. A few things I don't like but the overall advancements (especially in franchise) more than make up for that.

Which was the one before they broke the timing window? MLB 12 I think? That one is a close second favorite.

Ya, 13 was when they started messing with the Timing Window and everything got real floaty.

MLB 13 was the best so far...it would of been 15 if they didn't remove Analog Stride.

11 and 12 are STILL my favorites!

The gameplay felt a lot more realistic and Franchise mode still included the full front office experience!

Re: Favorite Iteration of MLB The Show

So there I was, late February of 2012. I was excited to grab my copy of MLB 2K12 for the 360. I had enjoyed the buggy 2K11, but I always love a good new baseball game. The unfortunate part was that there wasn't much information. I kept on checking Operation Sports, but all they had was info on The Show. One day they had a clip of the Cubs and Cardinals at Busch Stadium, so even though I did not have a PS3 at the time, I figured I'd check it out.

Holy cow! I was blown away. Stunned. I could not believe just how real the game looked! The presentation was amazing, graphics were second-to-none. Just at that time I heard the mailbox slam shut, so I went to check the mail. And there was my tax refund.

That did it. I was so impressed with that one video clip that I went to Gamestop and bought a Vita, a PS3, MLB 11: The Show, and reserved 12 for both systems. Since every other PS3 game I liked I could have played on the 360, I essentially bought a PS3 for one game. And you knoow what? It was the best investment I ever made in my entire life.

Then 12 came out. Now if you heard the legend of Polybius and how addicting that game was, it had nothing on MLB 12: The Show . I would play this for hours on end. My grades suffered. My girlfriend at the time, who is now my wife, wanted to go see a movie or go get dinner, but I wanted to play The Show. One of her relatives had a wedding, and I even brought my Vita so that I could play at the reception. Now that's an addiction, man!

I still play 12 from time to time, and it actually is better than 17 in some aspects. But I don't think I've ever had so much fun with one game than MLB 12: The Show.

Would the lady who left her nine kids at Wrigley Field please pick them up immediately? They are beating the Cubs 4-0 in the 7th inning!

This. I can't ever go back to older versions of The Show. There might be individual things that are worse in the new game, but overall, the new game is always better than any before it.

I totally agree with this, but something about 17's hitting just feels off to me. Even when my swing timing and placement are accurate, I seem to get unsatisfying results, to the point where getting a decent hit feels like more of a relief than a joy.

Having said that, 17 is still my favorite iteration. So many great improvements year after year that's it hard for me to go back and play any other version. After that would be 13 on PS3.
