Re: Favorite Iteration of MLB The Show

For me, MLB 06 The Show will probably be my all time fav (until they add in expansion in franchise mode, here's hoping that's 18). It had one of the best soundtracks (just edging out 07 as my favorite). Also had a lot of elements I miss to this day. Those pre rendered cut scenes of the stadiums before the game, as repetitive as they were, I loved a lot. I missed the financial part of franchise mode with promotions and what not (as messed up as they were).

As much as the game wasn't perfect it was my introduction to The Show and was my first baseball game I played made by the SCEA guys and I loved it dearly. (Also, had Tim Salmon in it in his final year, even though he had no stats which made me sad).

It really depends how you define favourite. I mean, I could also claim that the newest is always my favourite and that would (mostly) be true.

In terms of which one I felt was the greatest leap... It's a dead heat between 12 and 16. Hard to say which of the two, but those were the ones that were a clear cut above the previous year(s) to me.

'09 was my first MLB The show game, I actually bought a PS3 because of it. I played about 2 and a half seasons, every game, every pitch, I was obsessed! I played it until 10 came out. The Show has been a mandatory buy for me every year since!

My favorite version was MLB The Show 11 when they went full analog with the hitting, pitching and fielding mechanics. My biggest wish was that every few years they would retool them to keep them engaging. To me they sit stagnant too long in their current forms.

I was at best buy one day and wanted to buy a playstation. I didn't even know there was an MLB The Show (being from Canada) and scrolling past the games I saw Joe Mauer and looked it at the back of the case and was blown away I thought to myself how did I NOT know about this. Bought a ps3 and MLB the Show 11. Pure Analog Hitting! But 17 is currently my favourite now that I figured out how hitting works with the pci.
