Single A?
I'm curious how developmentally difficult it would be to allow single A games in franchise mode if the single A teams used the spring training stadiums and spring training uniforms. Maybe if they were exhibition games without a playoff/season it would be easier to implement? Just curiousTags: None -

Re: Single A?
Just a guess but I've assumed the problem was finding space for an extra 300 players to add to the roster to fill out Single A.Mets/Jets/Knicks. -

Re: Single A?
I am actually curious what the draw is to actually play single A? To me the talent is so raw that a player really does not start to come into focus until they hit AA. Do people want it active for the sake of just having it because they feel it should be there?Last edited by nemesis04; 02-07-2016, 10:55 AM.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: Single A?
Well, my personal pet peeve, is when I draft a young kid at 18 or so, and I can't wait to use him in my next season. I don't want to start him off in Double-A, but I also don't want to wait to test him out.
Also, Single-A is where prospects are developed most. It's a critical part of the development stage for prospects. For that reason, I would love to see it in. BUT, I won't be surprised at all if it's not in because of space and what not.Football Data Analyst @ Tracking Football

Re: Single A?
I think stadiums and uniforms are the main hurdles to playing at the A level. That's a lot of work for something 99% of players are going to ignore.
On top of that, they'd have to rework the maths for how prospects and FA works, cpu team management logic, development speed, player ages, RttS difficulty spikes, year 2 year saves... needless to say it's a mess.
Simmable A is much more likely but even that has a host of problems. I say let sleeping dogs lie.Comment

Re: Single A?
While Ramone and team do listen to this site more than any other medium they still have to make decisions for the game on the masses and I don't think having a playable single A is at all on the radar.
Frankly, if it weren't for RTTS I don't see a need for even double A. I think if we every see a playable single A it will have been put in for RTTS purposes not franchise and those of us that play franchise only will get the benefit of it.
And before beating me up, that's not to say people on this site would love to play single A within franchise because I know quite a few here would but I don't think that it's a popular enough opinion.Comment

Re: Single A?
I suspect that is a big part of it.
I don't have a problem with the way the game is currently structured in franchise mode. I use single A to stockpile
players I sign cheap to meet the minimum required number of players. They make it to AA or AAA to fill in for an injury but have little chance of making it to MLB.≡Comment

Re: Single A?
I'd honestly be okay with just having simulated stats for single A games. I don't like putting my best prospects down there, because I can't track how well they're doing.Moderator

I love playing The Show in season and RTTS modes--but those suck up enough time, so I wouldn't bother with Single A. I'd rather see developers open up space for all the alternate uniforms first (I'm a D-backs fan and they have a crazy number of uniforms now).

I think Single A is fine as is.....would love two more levels and tighter player development....because that's more true to life....but 90 per is fine.
If they just made single A totally open(unlimited slots) as a "holding cell".....that would work for me if they allowed the level to generate stats.

I guess the same reasoning would apply to editing/retired players as coaches. My two wish-list items. Oh well!Comment

Exactly this. Same goes to leagues such as Rookie A or Extended Spring Training.est 1978

Re: Single A?
so Sony has the high class single a teams names (for examples, Down East Wood Ducks, the Fire Frogs, Stone Crabs, Tortugas among others) in the game but not their uniforms.
do they still have to pay for these teams even though you cant play with them and their actual likeness isnt used?OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

To piggy back off of this. Ramone did say last year in or maybe in 15 on a stream that chances of Single A ever being playable is slim to none. While Ramone and team do listen to this site more than any other medium they still have to make decisions for the game on the masses and I don't think having a playable single A is at all on the radar.

Re: Single A?
It's supposed to be hard to interpret minor league stats to any relevant MLB situations, so what I'm saying is I wouldn't want this game to start causing minor league stats to affect their Major League results in the future, just because of statistical trends in the minor league career. A guy might steal alot of bases one year at some level of minor league but I don't want that to automatically mean they'll steal the same amount when they make the major leagues..
Minors should be all about evaluating skills and training and development, for younger ones the system should continue tweaking their attributes while older ones more likely will max out and stop developing as much over time. I'm remembering an older sports game who's system for minor league players was that way, probably was an NHL game but it could be FIFA.Red LegendComment
