Wow. I do not remember those. They're awful. They must not have worn them too many times.... And why, if not in the last decade, are they in the game!!! Are you saying the 2016 Rockies uniform guide still shows a uniform they don't wear?

Exactly what i was thinking.

It's one of 2 options most likely:

1. The style guide changed the sleeves to black last year, so the game followed, but for whatever reason the style guide changed them back to purple this year, so the game followed again.

2. Or the game didn't follow the style guide last year and did the right thing, but went back to following it this year. Hence the purple sleeves.

More than likely option 2. Which brings the question, to what extent are they really bound to following the style guide?

#1 makes no sense, unless the Rockies are going back to it this year. I think they only wore it for 1 game in 2010 but the purple hat was not worn with it.

I also remember someone earlier this offseason tweeted Ramone asking why the bottom of the black sleeves was purple last year. His response -- That's what it has in the style guide...

I really have no idea. I just hope that it gets straightened out eventually because, from our end, there isn't much we can do.

Unfortunately, it's been this way ever since I've been on OS. It's been one of my goals to try to help it all get straightened out. Maybe someday one of us will be able to see the guide and confirm one way or the other, but that probably wouldn't help much. I mean, we've had guys at CD for years and not too much has changed. Even if one of us saw that style guide, that doesn't mean everybody else on the forums will believe said person.

Maybe someday, though.

When you think about it, it actually wasn't even right in 2015 with the purple on the sleeve. I have never seen that undershirt ever but it's in the style guide. Oh well I just won't use that all purple alternate uni. It's all good.

What are you trying to prove? If the style guide was wrong last year and the game didn't copy it, it's because of a mistake. If the style guide was right last year, you asking about it won't change jack. The style guide has been checked, the only thing you can possibly accomplish is getting the wrong people in trouble, It is pretty clear after all these years that SDS doesn't have the pull to get the guide changed.

MLB obviously doesn't care whether the under shirts are accurate, they only care about whether the licensee does what they say. SDS isn't out to get you or make the game wrong on purpose.

Several here that I know of have seen the style guide but can't really say much due to getting someone in trouble depending on how they were able to see it.

I'm showing that 9 days ago Ramone said the sleeves were purple/black in the style guide and now he's saying the sleeves are purple in the style guide. It can't be both.

That's not how it was said. Either way it definitely wasn't changed in the style guide from last year to this year. The version that was in last years game has never been worn and the purple sleeves were worn a grand total of 1 time. I understand they have to follow the style guide and since they have to follow the guide there hands are tied. But it has to be one version or the other it cant be both.

How do you know this? Unless you have seen the style guide this year and last year you can't know that.

So the Rockies just randomly decided to change it something they have NEVER worn for 2015 then in 2016 decide to change it back to a combo that they wore ONE time for 16. Instead of changing it to the combo that they wear very often every year? that would make absolutely no sense at all. There is no way this happened.

If it is in the style guide with the purple sleeves this year it was in they style guide last year. If that's the case, then the devs didn't follow the style guide last year.

But according to Ramones tweet, the person tweeting him clearly pointed out the purple on the sleeve in last years game and Ramone said thats how it was in the style guide. That was 9 days ago.

What you've omitted to take into account is that just because it is in the style guide doesn't necessarily mean it is in the game.

Remember, there are a limited number of slots. The Rockies could have 18 combinations in the style guide if they want because it's not dictated to slot limitations. In the case where there are multiple options the Show has to decide which they are taking from the style guide and putting in the game.

What you see in the game isn't necessarily an indication of what is or isn't in the style guide and in theory the style guide could have not changed one bit between years yet what we get in the show could.

That would be a good thing if there were hypothetically speaking 18 Rockies combinations of uniforms in the style guide. Although probably too late, that is why the thread was started to show what all teams have been wearing uniform wise since 2012.
