I thought there was but apparently not...everything has always been on a playstation platform. That baffles me, honestly.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Having more money to hire more programmers doesn't make this easier to do. Having more people changing code does not make it easier, in fact, it makes it a lot harder.

The only way all modes get full development attention is to have a longer development cycle. That isn't feasible with a game that has an yearly release cycle AND includes patches and weekly roster updates.

They own the platform. Same reason microsoft doesn't release games on playstation, why would they?

We were talking about getting released on PC. Microsoft has released firs party titles on another Format where Sony has not.

If I give a game company 60 bucks to play their game, then I expect the game maker to give me all the tools and modes I need to play it..Anything more and then it feels like a bait and switch..Give me the whole game at once..I think I can handle it..

I'd love to see a system for sports games where they develop and update the game throughout the year. Constant development and upgrading. Never working on a totally "new" game, which is always just the previous years game with a few tweaks and a roster update.

Once a generation of consoles, there is maybe a new engine and a truly "new" game.

I'd much rather see and pay for a system that works like this:
              - No physical game. Download the "Madden" or MLB game to your console for free
              - Diamond Dynasty and MUT, the money makers, have some type of free to play model to encourage new players from continuing to play
              - Other players pay a subscription fee. Let's say $7.99/month. Thats $95 a year. For that subscription fee, they get all the content of roster updates, game updates, access to all game modes, along with bonuses for the MUT/DD model
              - Developers continue to add features throughout the year. This year, import a player didn't make it into franchise? Rather than waiting 12 more months, maybe dev's can get it into the game in 3 months. Features continually update all year long. Want the new rookie draft class in Madden? Day after the draft, the new players are added to an offseason roster update.

This model, similar to a MMO subscription model, would cost more assuming you are playing and paying for the game year round. If you play the game 6 months out of the year, it costs less. But regardless, all the money is going to the developers, and the games would CONSTANTLY be updated. With all of the excitement every year in Feb/March revolving around "whats being added this year" can you imagine how awesome it would be if the game was adding features every 3 months instead of yearly?

I also think this model would work for online 1st person shooters like COD (obviously off topic). I'm just not sure why noone has tried this yet.

This model also assumes you are permanently running on the same code base and for them to update anything major would most like affect other areas of the game. Users would basically be permanently acting as Beta testers. Plus that introduced a bunch of branched off SKUs that they would have to try to support.

No, but do mac or linux have native support to play games developed by Microsoft Studios?

I'd pay extra for things like classic stadiums, old uniforms, & even old rosters. But I just don't see there being enough people who'd do the same to make it a worthwhile revenue maker.

And even if there were enough people willing to pay....the licensing fees that they would have to pay to bring them to the game would cut right into the profit margin.
