Both of these modes look amazing. I really have to give a slow clap to SCEA this year on their complete revamp of Diamond Dynasty. My biggest gripe with DD, besides the lack of special cards (which they added this year) was the 50 minute on average games I had to play. It just wasn't enjoyable for a casual gamer like me that doesn't have much time.

These 3 inning games in Battle Royale are perfect. Pretty much exactly what I was recommending last year. I don't agree with people's concerns that 3 innings will result in a base stealing cheesefest (especially since they stated that they eliminated bunting and steal abuse) but we'll see. They can always increase the mode to 5 innings next year if it turns out to be a problem.

It's going to be a long wait until the end of the month.

I love the sound of both of them. I think somebody will probably come up with something similar, but to my knowledge, Conquest is completely unique to sports games. It sounds amazing.

Damn, nice catch! It really does seem near identical!

I never played Sony's NBA games, but its cool to see they are taking pieces from their old licensed games to help build MLB The Show up even more!

I will say, Conquest does look pretty interesting.
I'm not much for playing others online so it's nice to have that secondary mode from my franchise(and RTTS if I choose). But Franchise is definitely still #1.

I thought "gone gold" meant more like the game is complete and ready to be manufactured. Not sure how long that process takes before they're actually ready to ship physical copies to retailers.

Yeah, I think it means that the game has been sent out so the discs can be burned. It is not an indication that the game has shipped to anywhere.

As for draft strategy the most important question is if we get a random pitcher every game, or not.

If it's random, you might draft Kershaw, but might never use him.

This is why I think the draft will be about pitchers. You need 5 solid starters to do well. You can't live with bronze starters in this game mode.

I think it's easier to hit with bronze players than pitch with bronze players.

You are going to get 1 Diamond, 2 Golds, 8 Silvers, 13 Bronzes and 1 Common.

So from the first 11 rounds you need 5 pitchers and you can get 6 position players.

This way you might end up with 5 silver or better pitchers and 6 silver or better position players. Due to the pitcher hitting 9th, you'll only have 2 bronze players in the lineup. You might even have a lucky day and have those Bronzes go up thanks to Inside Edge.

It's great that a lot of loose ends and features are in for this year. 17 is going to be amazing if they can improve everything further and get some new player models going with better jerseys. I mean they have come a long way since 14. 16 looks to be a really solid foundation to the series on next gen.
