I feel MLB The Show could use much more vibrant color

The overall color vibrance of the game could use some uplifting indeed. I look at the game and i just get this sense of "dullness" of the colors in MLB The Show. Look at a MLB The Show 2016 screenshot and then go look at a real screenshot of a MLB game. This is something i always felt with Madden in the past and The Show for years now. I remember how nice and vibrant the World Series seemed on TV last year in HD...this is something The Show is missing on big time.

The grass, the uni's, the fans in the stands, the yellow home run out of bounce markers/poles,etc,etc just about everything could greatly benefit of the dev's simply pushed a more strong and vibrant color pallet for the game.

Hopefully the dev's will see what i see, it is indeed a little thing but would greatly liven up the overall feel of the visual aspect of the game. Dull colors gives off a dull feeling, it's that simple, its that important.

    Peace

I made a post not long ago to see if any work had been done on the grass or dirt. It does look great but improvements could be made.

I agree. Maybe with this PBR, they are in the right direction with getting those colors to pop and look sharp.

This used to be a big issue of mine. They have since worked on it, and although the "temperature" can still get a bit warmer, they definitely have a richer palette than back when (and I'm allowed to look back at something like MLB '05 in comparison, because they were stuck with that palette for a while).

I would, however, like to see less splotchy grass patterns overall.

Agree, it's always had a washed out look.

Improved color accuracy was mentioned in one of the MLB 15 The Show streams last year.

Yeah don't know how good the job was because the Dodgers blue was still to light and it doesn't look like they fixed it this year from the streams.

Basically they took MLB.TV streams and matched the color palettes to those. Maybe it's not the best palette to choose from, but that's what they mentioned.

PBR could help remedy it though, as they used to mention the difference in colors of green on the Chase Field walls was based off some walls being padded versus others being of other material (metallic or whatever the heck they said). Maybe using the right texture they could make it happen right.

                      Then again, maybe not.

I simply tweaked my TV picture settings to make the colors stand out and pop out more. Makes The Show a lot prettier

Ugh, I am not going to destroy a TV's picture to satisfy a mishap from the game itself. I'm "calibrated or bust" the rest of my life.

However, if you're looking for more pop on top of the possible color issue, I would recommend trying out the DarbeeVision Darblet.

So have we seen pbr during gameplay? I've been following streams, but Ramone always mentions how things will look with PBR. I saw the dugout clip, is that all we've seen so far? And are they trying to do a big unveiling, or just fine-tuning it?

Anyway, game usually looks great. Player models are a bit squaty, but I'm sure there is too much work that would go into changing those. Also, the frame rate is pretty bad. It seems that the dev team decided along time ago they wouldn't sacrifice graphics for better frame rate..and I'm fine with that.

This is a valid thread if u look on the main page here of MLB look at the top of the page where they show the articles, theres one for MLB than it flashes to super mega baseball, two different games of course but the color makes MLB look like its from the stone age
