The first tip I'll give is turn down CPU strike frequency. At default, the CPU is in the strike zone WAY too often causing you to get the false impression that you are super impatient. This is what I fell victim too for a long time.

The second tip I can give is have some form of subtle physical feedback to reinforce mental lessons. I'm not talking hitting yourself or causing harm. For example: When I know I want to take a pitch, regardless, I tap myself on the shoulder. When I swing at a bad pitch, I tap my forehead or lightly pinch the back of my hand. When I do a good take (even if it's a strike that I didn't want to swing at) I tap my back. You'd be surprised how much that conditions you.

As for what to look for, that's pitcher dependent. Some pitchers I focus on the ball coming in, some I focus on the release. There are event the rare pitchers where I look at the delivery. Knowing what to focus on which pitcher is the real trick, and unfortunately can only be learned through experience.

I have the same routine every time.

Sit on off speed pitches down the middle. If I get into a 2-0, 3-1 or 3-0 count. I sit on fast ball.

Also in 0-0, 2-0, 3-1 and 3-0 counts I will always use power swing.

      0-1, 1-1, 2-1 and 3-2 I use normal swing.

      0-2, 1-2 and 2-2 I use contact swing.

Using this method has really worked well for me.

Realistically, we can never properly emulate a real major league hitter's approach at the plate. First of all, we have no way to study video of a pitcher nor have access to tendencies. We have no way to pick up on delivery tips, nor pick up the spin on the ball. So all we can do is use the count, which was thoroughly outlined above by Turbo, to drive our plate approach.

It is fun to manually hit, but from a simulation standpoint, I have always wished there was an auto-hit option.

Cheers to hoping they fix the broken trade frequency slider in 17 The Show. Never saw one trade with slider set to 100. Something was wrong

I'm finishing up my season in Franchise, at what point do I need to stop advancing in order to pick up the 2017 schedule after continuing my franchise in '17?

I believe it's before the end of spring training. I'd still leave some spring training games though just so you can get some swings in on the new game. Every version has its little quirks.

I thought you couldnt actually start the next year if you wanted to "start fresh" with the next years schedule. I could be wrong as I have never actually started at spring training with a carry over save, well at least not for the current year.

Hmm thanks. I guess the answer then is to create different saves at various points of the off-season.

Is there a menu to see how pitchers are fairing against RH and LH? I found hitter splits but cannot find pitcher split breakdowns. Any help?

Nobody has anything on this? I've been searching everywhere for answer. Starting to feel kinda dumb at this point.

There are no pitcher splits for how they have done vs LH/RH hitters in the stats.

This is correct. You cannot sim to the next calendar year (Just finish the free agent signings then don't sim past December) if you want the correct 2017 schedule when 17 comes out while using a carryover save.

Wow. This is kind of a big stat to not have visibility on...
