    The Phillies have just finished a 3 game sweep of the Reds and pushed their winning streak to 5 straight games and are now 24-14 and 2 games up on the Nationals in the NL East. The Phillies continue to win games with their pitching. They are tied for 26th in MLB with only 123 runs scored.

    I lost Jeremy Hellickson for 3-4 weeks due to an inflamed hip suffered during the last game of the Reds series. Adam Morgan has been recalled from Triple-A to take his spot in the rotation.

    The homestand continues with 3 against the Marlins followed by 3 against the Braves.

        Lost in more ways than one to the Indians this series. It was tied 6-6 in the 4th inning and remained that way until the top of the 15th when Robbie Ross allowed the go ahead run to score on Lindor's 5th hit of the game. We threatened in the bottom half but could not capitalize. The biggest blow of this game was Xander Bogaerts had to leave in the 7th inning due to injury. After the game, it was revealed he broke his collarbone and will be out 1-2 months. Huge blow as he was hitting .320 on the season, .403 over the last 10 games. I will likely move Holt to SS and start Rusney Castillo in LF, and call up Josh Rutledge from AAA to become a utility IF. For the last 2 games of this series I will roll with an extra reliever in Noe Ramirez to help the bullpen after being extensively over used the past week. Here's to hoping Bogaerts makes a quick recovery

            I'm off to a hot 9-3 start after the first two weeks of the season with my Yankees. Jacoby Ellsbury is showing signs of his 2012 season as he leads the team in HR, SLG, and OPS.

            The trade for Trevor Bauer has proven to be great so far as his ERA is just about microscopic at 0.41. I definitely will tweak the difficulty a bit, but in the meanwhile, I'm going to enjoy this start to my season as the Blue Jays are just half a game behind me in the standings at 9-4, even after I took two out of three games from them so far.

                Pretty close game through the first 7 innings. Angles started strong with 4 hits in the top of the 1st. Were only able to get 1 run out of it. Minor never really had is best stuff tonight. Bottom of the 2nd we tied the game up off a Morales HR to left. Heaney left a slider up and Morales hit it 420 feet. Top of the 3rd Angels answer back retaking the lead with a Calhoun single up the middle scoring trout. Bottom of the 5th with Dyson on 3rd. Hosmer taps one between the pitcher and catcher. Heaney picks it up and may have had a play at the plate but went to 1st for the out letting Dyson score to tie it at 2. Bottom of the 6th. Bases loaded and Perez grounds into a double play. Morales comes in to score though to make it 3-2 Royals. Angels tie it back up in the top of the 2nd. Soto doubled into the right filed corner and Trout comes all the way around from 1st to score. Bottom of the 7th and things start to get away from the Angles. With Hosmer on 2nd Brandon Phillips grounds out to 2B but Giavotella throws it into the stands scoring Hosmer. Morales follows that up with a double to right field scoring Phillips and we take a 5-3 lead. After a pop out by Perez to start the bottom of the 8th Escobar hits a one out triple. Followed by 3 straight wlks to Dyson, Cain and Hosmer. Escobar comes in to score to make it 6-3. Phillips and Morales hit back to back singles to bring in Dyson and Cain to make it 8-3 and that would be the final. 5.1 IP from Minor. Gave up 10 baserunners but worked out of it for the most part allowing just 2 runs. Morales was the player of the game going 4-5 with 3 RBI.

                We move on to face the Astros for the 3rd straight year in the ALDS. We beat them in 5 games in 2015. And lost in 4 games last year. Ventura vs Keuchel (15-8, 2.93) for game 1 in Houston. Medlen vs McCullers in game 2. And Minor vs Fist in game 3 back in KC. Offense is playing a lot better than it did last year. Should be a good series. We did lose 5 of 6 games agains them this year. Including all 3 in Houston. Its becoming a good rivalry.

                Giants beat the Cardinals 1-0 in the NL WC game. They advance to play the Cubs in the NLDS.

                    I'm just starting off my YouTube Milwaukee Brewers Franchise and we are doing better than i thought we would be. We are near .500, however, I don't expect that to last long. I'm already super eager to call up top prospect Orlando Arcia to the show, but he is not quite ready.

                        Well we had a rough series in Dallas as the Rangers took the series 2-1. Game 1 was a rough loss in the 10th inning as they walked off. Final score was 5-4.

                        Game was just not a good game pitching wise as we lost 7-4. Game 3 we wanted to avoid starting a losing streak and more importantly not get swept so we ended up winning 7-5. This one upset me a bit as Keuchel was still in and I wanted him to finish out the 7th inning but Mazara had other plans and took him deep ruining the quality start for him.

                        We still won and thats whats important. Probably the most important thing in this series though was Jose Altuve finding his bat again as he went 7-14.

                        First game back home in Boston was just a very unique game. Was a close game through 4 innings as we lead 3-1 then things just went down hill very fast as the Red Sox allowed home runs from Altuve, Gomez and Valbuena (Or Castro) in 1 inning as we shot out to a 7-1 lead.

                        Next inning we strike for 4 more as Castro (Or Valbuena) pick up a home run. The Red Sox got 1 more accross in the 7th to make it 11-2 which was the final. We had 21 hits in the game was just crazy. I had Gomez on 3rd base in the bottom of the 8th and just had him try to steal home to end the misery it was honestly painful to play but I have promised myself I wont quit games in this franchise.

                        Just a crazy game considering only a couple games ago I only had 4 hits in a game. Crazy things happen in baseball though I suppose.

                        The Texas series was big for the Rangers as they cut our lead on the division down to 2 games but we are back up to a 2.5 game lead sitting at 13-4.

                        McCuller will not be back until next month, I got confused with which series he came back so that sucks but we will make do. Gives me more time to figure out who is given the pink slip.

                                Glad we dont have to go back to Houston as we had a lot of trouble keeping the ball in the park. Could be looking at the same issue in the LCS though as we go up against the Tigers or Blue Jays. Planned rotation will be Ventura, Vargas, Minor and Medlen. Not 100% sure Vargas will be ready to start game 2 though so it could be Medlen there with Vargas and Minor following. Feeling good either way. We split there season series with Blue Jays. Took 2 of 3 in Toronto and lost 2 of 3 at home. We won the season series against the Tigers 10-9 with 6 of those wins in Detroit. Dyson has struggled getting on base. But we are still winning so not making a change right now. But Yates could see some time in right this series.

                                Giants beat the Cubs 5-1. Win the series 3-2 and will play the Mets in the NLCS. Cubs had the best regular season record since the 2001 Mariners.

                                Tigers beat the Blue Jays 8-4. Win the series 3-2. Game 1 of the ALCS will be Ventura(0-0, 1.42) vs Zimmerman(1-0, 1.00) Both were fantastic in the ALDS starts. Ventura striking out 13 in 6.1 IP and Zimmerman going 9 innings allowing 1 run with 8K's. Detroit has home field advantage.

                                    Decided to buy The Show 16 and quite happy with the new franchise mode perks. I have spend the last 2 days preparing for my franchise and finally ready for another 162 game season. For ST I will play 1 sim 5 so I can have a start with each starter.

                                    First off the Blue Jays were looking for a bullpen arm, backup catcher and improved bench. The Jays signed 3 players to minor league deals. First off was RP Ernesto Frieri. Frieri will compete for 1 of the 2 final bullpen spots with Biagini, Venditte, Franklin Morales, Ryan Tepera and Girado. He is a strike out pitcher which the Jays don't have much of in the bullpen and can carve out a nice role in the pen if he can keep it in the yard.

                                    Next, the Jays signed Alex Guerrero to a 2 year deal (club option) worth 650 K each year. The Dodgers released him, but the Jays could use his power potential off the bench this year. He can plan 3b/2b/LF or RF and can platoon with Saunders if he struggles with LHP. The club option is nice for Toronto who can keep Guerrero around next year as well if he pans out, but if he struggles he can be cut loose for free.

                                    Lastly, the Jays signed 1B/OF Michael Morse to a minor league deal. He can make up to 750 K if he makes the big league roster. With Colabello suspended for the first couple months, Morse could fill in nicely as a backup 1B/LF/RF power bench bat and platoon option for Smoak if he struggles vs LHP. The Jays are hoping the move to the AL East and hitter friendly Rogers centre can rejuvenate Morse's power.

                                    So all in all some needs were met. The Jays will bank on Thole as the backup C. If he falters (on a short leash) the Jays will likely look to trade for a replacement, work the waiver wire, or even cAll up internally. Their options include Tony Sanchez and maybe Jesus Montero if they were desperate.

                                    The team likely is set for starters. The battle during spring training will be for the 4 bench spots (3 if you factor in Backup C). The likely candidates are Morse, Guerrero, Goins. If they can't get it going, guys like Barney, Lake, Pompey, Dom. Brown, Matt Dominguez, Andy Burns, Jesus Montero, and Ezequiel Carrera are waiting in the wings.

                                    The other battle is for the 2 bullpen spots. One will likely be between Hutchinson and Chavez for long man while the other will be as above (See Frieri signing).

                                    So far in the first game Guerrero had 2 hits including a double and Dom Brown also went 2-2.

                                            Completely agree. Having Buxton in CF is such a great weapon.

                                                You need to have the injury slider between 8 and 10 to get injury reports that resemble real MLB injury reports.

                                                Most people really don't want to have to deal with injuries, so they leave this at default

                                                At 7, what you won't see is enough of the day to day and 1-6 day injuries, or in-game injuries. At 8 or higher, you see more of the small, nagging injuries and more in-game injuries.

                                                At 10, it might be a touch high, but not by as much as you might think. I am setting mine at 8 or 9.

                                                    So I have a few updates on my franchise.

                                                    Juan Olivo finished up the 2026 season with a .283 45 HRs 107 RBI stat line, winning his 3rd MVP at just age 28. My boy Jeff Peck had a career year hitting .237, 41 HRs & 104 RBIs, 2nd in the AL to Olivo in both HRs & RBIs.

                                                    Also have an awesome story about this pitcher of mine who spent 8+ years in the minors before getting his chance. Rich Garcia, a former 3rd or 4th round pick, finally got his ML stint the year after I let Josh Bennett walk in free agency. I always kept this guy around because he possesses a high H/9, BB/9, & HR/9 ratings, & kept his ERA under 3 each year in the minors.

                                                    He ends up up being my no doubt #3 starter & finishes 18-9 with 2.81 ERA & 132Ks. 18 W's being good for 3rd in the AL. At one point he pitched BACK to BACK complete game 1-hitters, & fast forward to 2027, he's 11-5 with a 2.02 & 1 PERFECT GAME, against an aging Texas lineup. All sim. & I got pics lol. He's 84 overall, 32 years old & already declining though :/


                                                    I end up losing to the White Sox in 7 in the ALCS (2026). That team has Nick Cordova & another stud young player, along with a 99 OVR Ace. Serious contenders in coming years if they hold on to their talent

                                                    I should also introduce you to Bill Earnhart, my unique stud 88 overall 23 y/o phenom pitcher. I drafted him at 18, & he came out with Low stamina but an 80 clutch rating. That's unheard of from a starting pitcher. 70-75 is the sweet spot for most established Aces, & he came out with 80. I let him be a closer in AA for a few years, which worked out fine, he progressed fine even his stamina. He's 88 OVR with a 90 Clutch rating & 82 stamina in his rookie year. ERA is just over 4, but he's playing much better as of late - I expect him to be a Quality Start machine at his floor, maybe a Kershaw 2.0 as his ceiling. Will be interesting to see

                                                    In 2027, the Red Sox have made a resurgence & are 69-34 thanks to a great rotation. Jeff Peck is having a career year hitting .275, 27 HRs 71 RBIs by the Deadline. Mariano Cabrera, former ROTY, is ascending, leads the AL in HRs & RBIs in his 3rd year. Cecil Dye has become an awesome Yankee, hitting .262, .278 (so far) & 30 HR power in his first 2 years in pinstripes.
                                                    John Aguero, a 99 potential player used to help acquire Dye, is 3rd in the AL hitting .317 & will only get better. My old first basemen is supplanting Dye's production in Oakland nicely (.268, 22 HRs). I also gave them a pitcher who is currently their long relief man. Hell of a win/win

                                                        2017 Phillies End of Regular Season Update

                                                        Well, we completed our personal goal of reaching the playoffs! We got the last Wild Card spot and will take on the Giants in San Fran in the one game Wild Card Playoff. We finished the regular season 89-73, 26 games back of the best team in baseball, the Washington Nationals (115-47). We will have Nola going up against Bumgarner to try and keep our season alive.

                                                        Team Notes:

                                                        - Darin Ruf was my best hitter on the year with a .288 avg, 29 HR, and 69 RBI
                                                        - Nola was my ace on the year and finished with a record of 15-9 and a 3.05 ERA
                                                        - We led the league in HRs, but were middle of the league with RBI and one of the lower overall team batting avg. Gonna tinker with sliders in spring training to get an increase in XBH so I don't get all my runs from the longball.
                                                        - Rotation and Bullpen had a good year for the most part. The lack of run support hurt a bit but we have a top 5 pitching staff overall.
                                                        - Franco and Crawford were slight disappointments but showed signs of improvement in the second half of the year. They might be heating up at the right time
                                                        - My starters were pretty strong throughout the year with Hellickson being the exception. Sent him to the pen for a bit in the second half and his last 2-3 starts have been good outings. He finished the year 8-9 with a 4.12 ERA.
                                                        - Bullpen was very strong. I have a good late relief system with Neris, Benoit, Hernandez, and Storen as my closer. Lack a strong LH setup guy but Araujo has been decent.
                                                        - Storen was top 3 in the league with saves with 47. He finished with a 2-1 record and a 1.39 ERA

                                                        League Notes:

                                                        - Max Scherzer was a dominant ace all year and took home the MVP and Cy Young awards with a 20-2 record (I beat him once! Lol) and an unreal 1.69 ERA.

                                                        - David Price took home the same hardware as Scherzer in the AL with a 21-7 record and 2.67 ERA.

                                                        Playoffs:
                                                        AL
                                                        Red Sox (94-69) have a first round bye and will take on the Wild Card winner between the Blue Jays (93-70) and Tampa Bay (84-78)
                                                        The Astros (93-70) will host the AL Central winners, the Cleveland Indians (85-77).

                                                        NL
                                                        Phils travel to San Fran to take on the Giants (95-67) in the Wild Card game. The Washington Nationals await the winner.
                                                        The Dodgers (100-62) host the Cubs (90-72) as the Cubs try to end their World Series drought.
