Yep. Another example of reality being stranger than fiction. I don't like this deal for Boston, but I'll be damned if I'm not doing it in my own Padres franchise, lol. I have to thank Dave Dombrowski for continuing to not understand the value of prospects.

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
The only thing that softens this is they signed Jason Groome. Some had him ranked as the #1 player in the draft this year. But you're right horrible deal for us.

Preller is doing his best to cover his tracks from his disastrous year 1 by backfilling with all Red Sox prospects (Margot, Guerra, Espinoza, Asuaje...).
Is Wil Myers for Andrew Benintendi the next move?Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
I actually like Pomeranz and he's having an amazing year, but I feel the Red Sox could've got him for 2 dimes and a nickel instead of plunking down the quarter. Maybe there was a lot of competition and the Padres had leverage. Everyone knows it's a seller's market lately.

I agree with you. I'm hoping he can keep up this year. But like you said we should've dealt 2 dimes and a nickel instead of a quarter. It's definitely a sellers market though.

I was eyeing Drew Pomeranz in my Twins franchise and now I know where to start with the move with Boston and San Diego.Follow my Twins franchise http://www.operationsports.com/Tmizzle/dynasty/Comment

Going to make the trade in my Padres franchise, however they won't quite accept it straight up. Who do you guys think is a realistic throw in that the Red Sox would want. Rodney, Buchter, etc.Check out my dynasty: Rise to the Top: The Coaching Career of Joshua Morgan (NCAA 14)Comment

I'm missing something because the analogy isn't clicking for me.

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
And boom goes the dynamite....
I'm telling you guys. These highly regarded prospects get traded for less than you think, especially when in win now mode.
According to Keith Law, the 14th prospect in the game just got traded for Drew Pomeranz. A pitcher who has never thrown more than 180 innings in a season and has no track record of success. Dombrowksi is not some idiot GM either.
How many of you all actually play into year 4-5 of your franchise and see these A prospects from OSFM become super stars...if they even pan out. It's just like in real life, in 4-5 years your @$$ could be fired (in game terms you restart or lose interest). You have to make moves to win now.
Dave Stewart is still an idiot....Comment

i wouldnt call dombrowski a smart GM either. he's good at putting together a win now team but hes also good at throwing away high value assets and not winning the big prize leaving teams futures in questionComment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
You do something like Kopech, Brian Johnson and Sam Travis. Instead of trading just Espinoza.
