I downloaded him from the vault before I started (had him in last year's version and he was amazing) and in year 4 he's already high 80s to low 90s. About to pitch with him here in game two of my Phillies franchise soon
Oakland A's - Seattle Mariners - Detroit Tigers
Pittsburgh Steelers - Green Bay Packers
    Detroit Red Wings

Ugh - he's not in my MLB16 franchise. Guess he was put in later OSFMs. Oh well.

Yea he was put in the later OSFM rosters. I believe he started out as a 72 and he's already at a 77 in Triple-A! He's progressing so fast! I pitched with him in his last start and he is FILTHY!!!!! He will easily be a September call up and he is making a strong case to be in the rotation next season. I will just have to make room if it comes to that. I wanted to move Kevin Matian to the Braves but he didn't sign when I start so I might sign him and just trade him for a D prospect and release the prospect. I will prolly to same wih Gourriel and the Astros

I see him in my Padres franchise, worried about realism though. I am obsessive about it. I see Padres IRL held his team in their training facility and hired Hideo Nomo. Can you guys give me the go in terms of realism before I sign him?

If you aren't using the guy, might as well clear the roster spot. Don't cut the prospect though. Get a young (18-19) D guy with one good hitting tool if you can and just stash him in AA. See what happens. It's a lottery ticket, and you clear room for Otani.

That's pretty cool they hired Nomo. One of my favorite pitchers ever.

Are you trading for him? Overpay for him if you must and want him bad enough.

Not like teams haven't overpaid for guys irl before.

If it's a FA signing - hey, he's on the street. No one picked him up - why not you? It's realistic to sign guys off FA wire...heck, signing a foreign guy off the FA wire is the realistic way to get foreign players. Make it bigger to emulate posting fee if you want (if he would take $1 m for 5 years, make it 4 m for 5 years to emulate $15M posting if you want, something like that).

Well I'm going to sign Matian and Gouriel just so I can trade them to the teams they are on in real, life. I guess I can pick up a D prospect and just go with it.

It is a FA signing. It is just that I don't like how the CPU AI is very bad when signing free agents that are imported. For example, I would never sign Maitan because he has no chance of going to the Padres IRL bc he is already with the Braves. For others, I mostly check if the prospect has been linked to the Padres.

I see Nomo and the practice facility as more of a link than any other team has, but that may just be a bias because I want him. Just need an extra confirmation lol.

It sounds realistic to me. Nomo is a fellow countryman so they could relate well to each other (good development and personal relationship as it would be in OOTP) and that would be attractive to Otani. Since you approached early and made a convincing offer, he signs with the Padres.

                    That work?

So I am about to deal Kurt Suzuki to the Phillies who are 48-43 and 1st place in the NL East by 3 games over the Nats. They need an upgrade at catcher badly and I simmed two days and they sent me 4 offers lol. I am about to send Suzuki to the Phillies for Darin Ruf. They actually just traded for Victor martinez.

That's because you can't trade a player you've just got on a free. I'm not sure ow long you have to wait, but you can't trade them for at least a month or two
