Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Playing with the A's, looking at two trades closer to the deadline
OAK gets: 1B C. Santana
CLE gets: 3B R. Nunez (B potential), 1B R. Ravelo (C)
OAK gets: SP Z. Wheeler
NYM gets: SP D. Driver (B), CF J. Higley (B), 1B Y. Alonso (71 overall)
I'm currently 21-21 (4th in AL West), Cleveland is 17-23 (5th), and New York is 20-20 (2nd)Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Red Sox Franchise. I really want to unload one of Pablo or Hanley's Contracts. I understand I am going to have to take on a bad contract in return preferably a pitcher. Thinking one of them plus a B prospect for a pitcher. Anyone have suggestions on who that Pitcher could be and maybe a prospect that it would make sense to attach to the two albatrosses. Thanks.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Thinking about trading for Ross or Cashner as the Astros. Not a fan of Fiers in the game; I can't seem to pitch with him.
What would they require in return? Also willing to trade for both of them since I could just move Fister to the bullpen. Willing to move almost anybody (No AJ Reed, no Tyler White, reluctant on Bregman but will).
ALSO, Jake Marisnick could be a very realistic piece in a Ross/Cashner trade. I believe Ross has more contract length than Cashner, so that fits. Marisnick is talented, B potential guy that doesn't get enough playing time on the 2016 Astros and would be a great long term fit in San Diego.
Now, if you want to keep him for when Rasmus/Gomez leave, that's a consideration.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
An ugly contract swap seems like the most likely scenario with Ellsbury, but not for Choo. Texas already has Delino Deshields in center with a similar skillset as Ellsbury.
Texas wouldn't move Gallo for a prospect. Even Judge/Mateo. High profile prospect-for-prospect swaps almost never happen due to the extreme uncertainty.
Best case to move Ellsbury is probably a bad contract swap with a couple prospects involved.
Ellsbury's contract is long and expensive, so this is a tough one.
For example, Shields is logical, but his contract is shorter and less expensive than Ellsbury's (I believe?).
Trading Ellsbury is.... Difficult.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
How fair do you guys think this trade is? (30 team control)
LAA:
- OF Coco Crisp
- 1B Billy Butler
OAK:
- SP C.J. Wilson
The Angels are currently a mess at 1B/DH (whatever one Pujols isn't playing) as well as LF (Nava has been okay but Gentry has been terrible). The A's currently have a rotation of Gray-Hill-Bassitt-Alvarez-Graveman but could use an upgrade. It's essentially a swap of bad contracts that also helps fill a need or two on each team.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Billy Butler: .260/.310/.417, 8 HR, 43 RBI
Coco Crisp: .243/.326/.380, 4 HR, 32 RBI, 10 SB
The players who would be replaced...
Daniel Nava: .257/.330/.409, 5 HR, 21 RBI (playing only vs RHP)
C.J. Cron: .183/.247/.360, 2 HR, 10 RBI
Craig Gentry: .167/.263/.296, 1 HR, 8 RBI (playing only vs LHP)
Chris Bassitt: 6-4, 4.43 ERA, 78 IP, 75 K's
Kendall Graveman: 4-4, 4.50 ERA, 74 IP, 62 K's
The Angels currently have a rotation of Richards-Weaver-Wilson-Heaney-Skaggs with Shoemaker/Santiago ready to replace Wilson. The A's could call up Smolinski/Lambo to help replace Butler/Crisp.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Considering we were going to trade Wheeler+Flores in return for Carlos Gomez LAST season, I would say his value is still pretty high.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Hi guys, I'm looking to start a franchise and looking to rebuild the Tigers. Dombrowski has made some bad moves and the team is just not in a place to make a run for the title. Having said that, im willing to move The following for prospects. Looking for any advice on what to look in return for them.
SP Justin Verlander
1B Miguel Cabrera
CP Francisco Rodriguez
2B Ian Kinsler
SP Anibal Sanchez
1B Victor Martinez
C Jarrod Saltalamacchia
Yes, it's basically a fire sale and unrealistic I know. Looking for the right return in prospects for each, thanks in advance guys!Comment
