There's a specific slider for CPU first pitch in the strike zone. Atleast there was in previous versions. I'll be bumping this down a few notches as always.

Even when my DD setting levels out I find they still throw too many first pitch strikes. Makes it harder to get deep into counts & encourages me to swing at first pitches, which I don't like making a habit of.

Having absolutely no problems with first pitch strikes now that I'm up to All-Star on dynamic. Playing all default sliders, except the DD slider which accelerates promotion/demotion (to get me up to where I should be - All-Star - HOF range - quicker.

How is the game playing overall in your opinion on default sliders with DD? Is it very close to real stats, actions on field etc? Curious because I'm really thinking of playing this way this year and avoiding the whole slideritis that I fall into yearly.

credit to all those guys do though as their work year after year is amazing

Sigh... if you downloaded the digital version, it also downloads the "day one patch" that most games have now, and applies it immediately. If you bought the physical version, when you put the game into the PS4, it starts downloading that same patch, then installs it.

So yeah, if you got the digital version of the game, the patch was already installed before the official release that was at 9pm PDT/12am EDT.

This is the first year using dynamic difficulty & really like it. So when I get it to where I feel comfortable should I lower the promotion/demotion slider to zero to lock it? Thanks.

Yep, that's what I do. I'm actually hitting a bit of a snag at the AllStar hitting level, which is earlier than I expected - I'm usually a HOF batting guy. It might be the whole precision input thing or it might be my other documented "issues" that I'm not going to drag into another thread. But I'm definitely getting much more of a fight from Allstar this time around. For pitching it looks like I may end up on AS + very soon, which is getting close to where I was last year.

Once I hit AllStar I started seeing the AI attempt to pitch around me more, and that tends to round the game stats into form as I can't just look for pitches to mash. I'm striking out, I'm walking, I'm hitting frozen ropes and weak tappers. I have no problem with staying on Allstar if that level suits me better this year. The only thing on default that I could call an issue so far is comebackers - they still happen to often, although less of them seem to hit the pitcher than they used to. I need more time to see if that trend continues into more games.

Love the new progress meter - very clean and easy to read. Finally no more confusing discussions about just what the hell All-Star+ : Progress: +++ means.

Couple of notes about the system as it has been tweaked a little. The requirement for leading by two runs to promote seems to have been removed as I managed to promote in a tie game. You can still only promote/demote one level per game, but unlike last year restarting the game does not reset that promotion limit - you have to exit back out to the main menu and start another game to promote again. A bit of a headache since I've been trying to rapid-fire my way back through the promotions.

Anyone using dynamic difficulty in RTTS? I have been using it for about 30 games and it hasn't changed.

I only use DD for pitching where I hover between All Star plus and Hof. Hit on AS with slider adjustments so the cpu doesn't just pump strikes in

Does the progression save after the games done? I put my game in today & it's like it's reset. Don't know if I'm do something wrong.

It actually saves constantly - if you quit a game at any point the progress will be right where you left it.

If it seems like it's resetting to you, make sure you're loading the same profile every time you start a game - each profile has its own separate DD configuration. What I did was create a new profile called "Dynamic" from the Experienced template, set both hitting and pitching difficulties to dynamic, and then made sure that profile was loaded every time I went to a play now game (right stick to scroll between profiles on the team select screen.

                          Hope that helps.

Check the Control Of Pitchers Pitches, the controls for most pitchers are higher.

I've noticed too that the difficulty seems to take its time ramping up.

Since I started playing tuesday morning I've done about 15 RttS games with my main. I'm hitting about .800 with 20 hr and 45 rbi. Every pitch is a fastball right down the middle. They never miss. And with the Coors Field perk I'm routinely hitting over 470 feet to center field.
The most important part of reading is reading between the lines.
