Wonder if it improves if one were to play on 1080i or 720p.

Same. While I cant say i havent had any of the issues (it may not be 60 fps). I sure haven't had any drops during the game. Ive been using fast play so i cant say for sure about cut scenes. But the FPS has not moved at all for me when hitting, pitching or fielding.

If it's only in cut scenes then it's not a big deal.

the game is native 1080p you can force that lower rez but that is just causing downscaling and has zero to do with the issue

I've never had a problem like this before with The Show or any game, so I have no idea what to do to solve this. The game looks great and appears to play great, but the constant stuttering is a problem. Any help solving this would be appreciated!

EDIT: By stuttering, I mean the frame rate is just really low for some reason, makes the game not smooth at all.

Its pretty bad at Minute Maid, in the Bullpen looks like silver flashing 100x, kinda reminds me of the Astrodome bullpen at night when there is a lot of bugs flying around near the lights back then.

I don't know if this is what you're talking about but my first few online games I noticed a significant pause/stutter when making contact with the ball when using Dynamic camera for that offense baserunning camera. Switched to medium and it went away.

Welp looks like I won't be purchasing this game (unless this issue gets patched which I doubt). It sucks because I was really hyped for this year's version but choppy frame rate is something I will not tolerate anymore. This is supposed to be Next Gen & frame rate issues should be a thing of the past especially being year 3 of the development cycle. Message to SCEA, having the game run at a solid 60 fps should be your number 1 priority every year. Everything else is secondary. What's the point of having fancy graphics if the game runs like crap? I'm a huge fan of the Show series but this is just unacceptable. Whatever concessions you have to make to get this game running at a solid 60 fps just do it. If it means scrapping PBR then so be it. The gameplay experience is ruined for many people like myself because of this. For those who can ignore it (or choose not to acknowledge it) more power to you, but I will not pay for a game with choppy frame rate.

Would having the tv on "Game Mode" make a difference? I remember the show with Andrew McCutcheon (2013?) they used to tell you to make sure you have game mode turned on on your TV.

Installing the game right now. Have a Samsung LCD from 2009 so I'll see what happens.

No. Again, I have PS4 games that play at 60 FPS (MGSV and Super Mega Baseball to name two), with the exact same PS4 and TV settings. This one does not approach the smoothness of those during on-the-field gameplay. It's more comparable to the speed of DriveClub or The Division (which are also both very stable despite the lower FPS).

This isn't random stuttering for me, not like that one year where the ball just froze out of the pitcher's hand for a split second sometimes. It is constant (yet stable) low framerate. That's why I don't think it's a bug, and more likely by design (to keep the visual quality from being lowered during actual gameplay).

Last year was the same. The game had problems framerate wise but everytime someone tried to be vocal on the forum the 60fps-Army jump on the thread ( without no evidence, it's 60 fps because it's The Show ). That's the result. I will wait for a technical analysis, hoping someone - and i doubt - will do it.

Really? Can I borrow your copy because you must have a special one then the rest of us

Is one thing to not notice it much or not bother you at all but to say you have had not one instance of stuttering or frames dropping is not true at all

I demand to know where you got your copy from
