Sure. Runner on first, no-doubt double to the outfield is hit, runner dives back to first and stays there unless manually prodded.

Can you recall if the "Auto-Baserunning On" message in the middle of the running display disappeared on this play, or if it never showed up at all?

The patch seemed to fix all of my issues. Have you tried exiting out of the game and restarting the PS4?

I thought all instances of diving back were attributed to the R1 being accidentally hit. Try moving your finger completely clear of the shoulder buttons and see if it ever happens again.

It's hard to say that, and I don't want to infer it because it just seems to anger people. But for whatever reason - user error, controller malfunction, input pipeline bug, poltergeist - The R1 Return All input (not necessarily the button) is getting triggered, and that's indeed what's causing the divebacks into bases.

And I suspect that the moment this happens, Auto baserunning is getting canceled, with the "Auto Baserunning On" message disappearing. Because R1 (along with several other buttons) does cancel it under normal circumstances.

No, I'm of the firm belief that its a combination of the last patch and players who have a very low baserunning skill going bonkers sometimes. I've had pitchers on the basepaths dive back to second and act like a squirell who can't decide whether to cross the road or not.

Except for the fact that the scenario I described above (the runner at 1st diving back) was someone I specifically subbed in as a pinch runner in a 9th inning needing one run to tie situation.

I also don't tap R1.

Played 5 games today with Auto baserunning on while playing around with some other stuff....zero issues at all. No accidental cancels, no divebacks, or anything like that.

I have played a lot of games in my franchise with auto baserunning on. I don't use any controls to override it and have never seen the "auto baserunning on" message disappear. I have not had any trouble with my baserunners after patch 4 or 5 and believe me I have been on the lookout for trouble.

I'm a classic base runner guy. I'm having the issue of not being able to advance my runners more than one base at a time. If I switch to auto, would this be fixed? Also, can I tell my guys to steal without disabling auto?

Yes to both questions. With Auto, you can queue a steal, and baserunners will advance more than one base.

Had a minor issue in my third game post patch. I had runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out, and my batter hit a clean single into right field, well in front of the outfielder. Both runners were slow to run though, and the man who was on 2nd stopped at 3rd base when he very likely could have scored. Its been mostly better though.
