It sucks, and its frustrating, but it will be fixed. In the mean time, I've gotten a little better at sending guys to the next base on my own using L3 and the base button rather than L1, and it seems to function better. There are still hiccups when I have a guy with poor baserunning skills who won't listen to my override commands, but I've just been playing it safe lately and haven't run myself into as many outs.
We're glad it's working out for you. But don't insult the ones who aren't having the luck you are having with alternative solutions (which are actually workarounds...oh the irony).

I'm glad you are still able to enjoy it and not experience the problems we're running into.

Why on God's green earth would you not even attempt to learn how to use the quite simple and fully functional default base running mechanic in the meantime?

I find that incredible. I really do. If for some reason classic pitching was not working.....I would be using meter to tide me over till a fix came out.

I look for solutions....I want to play the game. And while I totally understand the immense frustration that something that has always worked all of a sudden is not....you have to know they are going to fix it. It was an obvious code glitch on the patch they released. Of course it was not intentional, and of course they will get it right. And I am sure they are not rushing out this patch like they did 1.04....for this exact reason. They need to throughly test it so it does not damage another part of the game.

In the meantime.....learn another interface (default based running and guys it is easy to use) so you can play the game (while awaiting the next patch) instead of having all this pent up anger about a video game.

      Just a thought.
Refer to post above. We're glad it's working for you. But don't tell other people to learn different ways to play the game when the out of the box functions aren't working properly.

If you're not having problems, that's great for you. Some of us are, and there's no need for your passive aggressive comments towards those people that are struggling and complaining about the functionality of the game not working properly.

The game is absolutely amazing and I love it for the most part. I've decided to just practice my plate discipline until the classic base running gets fixed. But if you're not experiencing problems, what's the point of talking down to the people who are?

It's just a weird reason to jump in a thread, in my opinion.

No one is talking down. A&S was just offering an alternative while the issue is addressed so that you could play the game.

Maybe go back and re-read the post. The tone was pretty clear with some of the verbiage used. There are MULTIPLE members venting and voicing their concerns in regards to this exact problem. Then there are hi-jackers who evidently (according to their own posts) are having no problems with the default settings in which they play; but at the same time they're saying "for you people who don't play like we play, just learn to play like we play". Yea, that's super constructive... If you don't see that, or just refuse to, then it's all good. But at the end of the day we're just splitting hairs, we all want all of these issues to be resolved as quickly as possible. We're all on the same team here.

Dude. I am having problems. I used the words "sucks and frustrating" in my post, lol. The game does not work the way it used to or how I want it to, and I've been forced to alter how I play and lower my expectations. I just suggested that this wasn't the end of the world, and am dealing with it.

So about how long should we expect to wait until a patch with this fix is released? Are SCE usually quick with patches?

I don't need to re-read the post, in knowing A&S as I do from his posts, I don't see where he was talking down to anyone but instead offering a suggestion. You don't have to take his suggestion, but it is a way to play the game while the method you're most comfortable with gets fixed.

You don't have to use his suggestion, but you also don't have to get bent out of shape because a suggestion was made.

                      Not without canceling auto, no.

As autobaserunning is broken in both classic/default, I think it's appropriate to point out there are no workarounds for that.

Hoping Monday will bring the fix that's needed!

                            WRONG!

I am more worried that I am getting used to it, so when I DO go back to classic (when fixed...this is unreal), it will take a bit to de-learn the default.

Classic is just plain better, and I will never abandon it (provided it WORKS)!

Classic is fixed again which is nice, but you should resign yourself to losing runs here and there because runners from 2nd still slide into 3rd on solid line drives to the outfield even with 2 outs. Sometimes no matter how fast I am getting to that runner I can't prevent it. Classic works fine, but that auto-assist decision making is still bad. I don't think you can prevent that.

I hadn't noticed. I never rely on the assist feature. I'm either hammering L1 r pressing the base button for whatever runner is on base.
