LOVE the game but how in the heck are Schwarber and Soler's potential a B?

Considering what deGrom has done compared to Bradley, check it out, deGrom should have a higher potential. I don't see why deGrom's potential should be lower than his overall. For quite a few years now they had Strasburg with a 98 potential, now it's a 94.

Now, no one can accurately predict what all players are going to do this year. What you do know is what they have done. People pitching with deGrom did not get the "real" deGrom in this game during 2014 and 2015. He was a B potential in both, and even after winning ROTY in 2014.

There, that's my rant about deGrom
Archie Bradley is 23, DeGrom is 27.

I do agree that some potential ratings are off. I feel like Carlos Rodon should no doubt be an A. Best college pitcher in the draft 2 years ago and has front of the rotation stuff. Once he masters his changeup, he'll be like Sale with the great changeup and even better slider.

Haha to be honest I think that's probably a little optimistic. I'd put him as a mid-to-low B until he proves that he can put it all together. He has improved his ability to make contact and cut down on his K%, but until he shows that he can do that for a prolongued period of time at the Major League level I'm not sure that he is justifiable as an elite potential. That being said he looks generally good in the field at short and third and I have noticed him running pretty well so he's very good and useful even with question marks about his contact.

He could easily be a monster, but I think that it's just as likely that he is simply a solid utility man.

Strasburg is 27 and his potential is 94. So we are basing potential on age, and what they have done is meaningless.

          Have a nice day?

I'm more concrned with the fact that just about every 2hd baseman in the game has better offensive attributes then Ryne Sandberg.

I about puked when I saw what they did to Ryno.

When I think of A and 90+ position players I think of complete players. Soler can't field a lick. Strikes out too much. And had an OPS south of .800. The Cub brass thought so much of him they brought back Dexter Fowler which cut into his at bats. Now he'll platoon with Kyle in left on days when Schwarber catches. Or fill in for Heyward against lefties. Sounds like a 90s player. Schwarber for the time being strikes out too much as well. Might as well wonder blindly in the outfield. He's as slow as molasses. He's also noticeably laughable on the base paths. None would get an A from me. Not that I'm very liberal about A potentials, but to me they're low 80s potentials.

I think people tend to overrate prospects. They all want their top pitching prospect in the system to be 90s. And in real life a lot of time the scout grade is a 55, which gets them in the top 100, but really 55 equates to a #3/4 starter. Which to me is like an 86 at most, and at least an 80 in the game. Incidentally, Schwarber and Soler were largely 55 guys. If you go by Fangraphs that pegs them at above average. Judging by the lack of 90 players out of the box, I doubt they would give above average players 90s.
