That could not be farther from the truth and quite frankly I find it downright offending to the development team when I see such ignorant statements like this in the impression thread.

    Utter nonsense.

I can tell you with the utmost sincerity that MLB 16 The Show's gameplay on the diamond is the very best console baseball game you will ever play to date. And I played over 1000 hours of 15.....a great game.

    This one smokes it.

Depends, depends on whether or not you use auto baserunning and/or whether or not they fix auto baserunning. Of course, there is always the possibility fixing one thing creates a problem elsewhere.

I will say this, if I knew of that auto baserunning problem before buying 16, I would keep playing 15 and wait until that was fixed.

I'll be completely honest here, Why is this even a question? 16 blows away 15 in Visual Quality and Gameplay by a decent margin. The mechanics, game modes, and PBR makes this a must buy version for anyone.

15 might have been one of the most frustrating sports games I've ever played (and not in a good way) in regards to gameplay. I have never seen a game that has been so irritating to so many people, yet I played it religiously for every month after it's release.

All I'm saying is that, being a college kid living on my own... I'm glad I spent $70 on this game instead of fast food and cheap booze in a single night, because it is WORTH IT.

Gameplay? Well, look at the baserunning thread and see how those who use auto baserunning feel.

Oh, I guess you don't use auto baserunning and don't care about it or the people it affects. Sorry to waste your time reading this post.

Re: MLB The Show 15 or 16?

I know the OP had his concerns resolved several posts ago, but I was just hoping to expand on this. I bought a used copy of MLB The Show '15 only a few months ago for about $20. I figured as long as the online servers are still active, I could download updated rosters and save them. That's the main issue with me that would've prompted me to hold out for '16. Does anyone know when the online servers for '15 will be permanently shut? How late were the servers open through for '14?

I am still playing 15 a lot, to me and this is just my opinion, a completed 15 has better gameplay then what we have in 16, dynamic difficulty is a lot more fun on 15 then it is on 16, the graphics to me are about the same, I actually like the lighting in 15 better then 16, I wouldn't call 16 a roster update but I understand whoever said it was. I currently play with Bacon v10 roster on 15 and DD and have great games. Just my opinion.

I absolutely loved 15, and my time with 16 has been limited so far, but right now 16 has been better for me in every regard. Absolutely no regrets going to 16 for me so far.

I think the graphics in 15 had a clearity to it that 16 does not have.

I haven't played 16 yet, just editing pitchers at this time. How do you like the new career Stats feature? I've noticed a few oddities that were incorrect. Alex Meyer (RP) of the Twins entered the majors last year and pitched a few innings, ERA of 16.88. I saw that and then looked in amazement as his career ERA was 3.38

Now it's not just one player messed up like that, but I mention that one in particular because it's one year and so far off, 16.88 to 3.38.

Meyer is a B potential so maybe they didn't want his career ERA to look so bad J/K, I think

Re: MLB The Show 15 or 16?

MLB 16 for smoother animations and improved sound. I actually left the commentary on and my TV turned up this year.

However if you like using player lock in MLB 14 and MLB 15 you should know the majority of the Player Lock/RTTS features have been removed. All presentation styles are sped up in MLB 16 when using the player lock feature.

If you want to play fast and get through games then MLB 16 is the way to go. But if you like to watch baseball and not coming into a game down by 10 and not know what happened then you may want to reconsider.

From a gameplay perspective using player lock, issues from MLB 14 still exist for example if you are controlling a short stop and are late getting to the bag in a double play the CPU will still throw the ball to you even though you are no where near to make the tag! It's like the CPU players have no awareness.

Getting caught in a run down is still pretty bad. I use analog base running and have never been able to succesfully get out of a run down even though I'm faster than the CPU they always get a speed burst to make the tag!

If you like controlling the pitcher and all eight men on the field then it plays as you would expect and broadcast presentation works as you would expect.

The new menu UI has been improved and looks nice and may look fresh even with next years launch. But the typography can be difficult to read at times.

I play offline franchise mode and the new player morale feature is nice. But the way it's presented feels unfinished and needs more polish. It's as if they ran out of time which is probably the case.

The game has lots of bugs I would wait a couple of patches down the line before purchasing! I've submitted quite a few to the Shownation site and have video footage to justify! I've been playing since MLB 14 on PS4 and discovered issues fairly quickly!

In the end I think it depends on how hardcore of a baseball fan you are if you are expecting a real simulation experience you might want hang around MLB 15 a bit longer. If you are all about game modes and jumping through games quickly wait for a few more patch releases the get into MLB 16.
