    Official frame rate issues thread.

Mods since you closed the last thread on this subject, can this thread stand alone as the official thread related to frame rate issues so we can have one topic on the forum where others can discuss this issue and so developers can see how serious or important it is to the community?

On topic, as we all know a lot of debate has occurred about the frame rate of this game, some people don't notice any issues and say the game plays very smooth and others say the game plays horribly.

What issues have you personally noticed?

What ball park and weather conditions was it in?

    Was it gameplay or cutscenes?

    What are your TV settings?

What camera views do you use?

Does anyone have any tips or tricks to lower latency or input lag and to try and keep the frame rate smooth, outside of basic maintenance of the PS4 and game mode?

I had awful framerates in a night game in Oakland that the game felt unplayable yet in a normal day game, the game played silky smooth and was very enjoyable. I also had massive frame rate issues in Challenge Of the Week and that mode has felt awful on the PS4 compared to how it felt on the PS3 a few years ago. This is a major issue since the batter pitcher interface has a huge importance with timing and having a poor frame rate makes it harder to time pitches along with making the game look worse and harder to track the ball.

I think I am going to try a game in Oakland at night now because I have had zero Frame rate issue with game play and even the cutscences I fell like are pretty smooth over all compared to the past. So I am really wondering if maybe it only happens in some ball parks. I play with Broadcast pitching and a camera that is fisheye but a little bit lower and zoomed in for hitting.

I play fisheye hitting and pitching and the default fielding camera.

Gameplay-wise everything seems relatively smooth to me, the only place where I really notice it is in the cutscenes and the broadcast transitions. Frame rate-wise I'd say this is the best performing PS4 version of The Show to date, although it's still nothing close to the PS3 days.

I played a day game in Oakland yesterday, maybe I'll try a night game and see what gives.

            It's not. FACT.

No PS3 or PS4 version of The Show since I have started playing 5 years ago has had this much hitching with such drastic frame drops.

And no PS4 version has had such a low average Frame Rate.

This is the worst performing entry of the series I have seen.

The worst frame rate drop I've seen was in Colorado day games when the pitcher comes out of the bullpen.

Are you experiencing it only in the Rogers Centre or in every other ballpark in the game? What conditions are you typically experiencing it?

Some games I have played were much smoother compared to last year, and hitting is a lot easier to pull the ball and that was a major issue last year and when watching replays the ball physics and off the bat physics and animations looked a lot better.

Some other times I have played though, like when I tried to play in Oakland at night yesterday, playing the Show Live matchup of White Sox vs A's the game played at such an awful FPS it was distracting and not enjoyable because of it.

I'm notice the framerate is lower across the board, does not matter what ballpark or mode.

I am noticing in certain parks it's worse, and when the camera pans upwards after a homerun or deep fly ball the frame rate tanks at times.

Hitches seem to be caused by the game queuing up sounds, though it doesn't seem exclusive to SOTS, as I have seen it happen without any custom sounds or music enabled.

So I played a night game in Oakland like I said I would and still the game was very smooth. It is said by at least a few people that there are frame rate issue ever year but I have never had a issue with frame rate in a mlb game out side of cutescences but it sucks for people who have and I would like to find out why some people have issue and some don't which is why I figured I would try the Oakland thing because that was one of the ball parks that someone said they had issues with.

I feel its worse with Domed stadiums shut, would sort of make sense with the transition.

I'm playing most in Fenway Park. There is a severe stutter every time when rounding the bases after hitting a homerun, and during most transition replays. Also, when replaying a lot of strikeouts, there are quite a few stutters.

                          It's definitely very jarring.

I don't think we can really say if it is the best or worst performance the game as had because not ever one is having the issue. I have always had smooth game play with the gameplay. The only framerate issue I have really ever had are cutscences issues and that was much worse on 14. Mlb 14 cutscences were really bad like 15 FPS or something but even then gameplay was still smooth. Now this year the gameplay is very smooth as always and cutscences while not perfect are much better then 14 or 15 was. I would say gameplay is 60 FPS or at least 30 100% of the time but cutscences are like 20-25 FPS like 30% of the time. I just don't understand how some people have this issue and others don't but I know there have been issues that people have had with games that I never had besides just this game. Example Batman arkham origins was said to be a bug mess game yet I only saw like 4-5 glitches and none were even close to game killer. I have played MLB the show from 08 to this year and I have not once and I mean once seen any of the games slow down outside of online play or cutscences.

Just played the Mets vs Royal The Show Live game for today it was a day game and the game was playing very smooth although some cutscenes did have some frame rate issues.

Hopefully that frame rate issue is not a reoccurring thing.
