I don't notice any frame rate issues on my Phillips flat screen. On my Sony tv, however, I see them only on cut scenes.
I'm not the master of anything, but a student of everything.

I'm not trying to discredit anyone, just trying to narrow down the issue. I just played a game at Wrigley in the day time middle of summer and did not see any stutter. It was smooth the entire game. I'm wondering if the ps4 is the problem. What generation of ps4 do you guys that are having the problem have. I have a 1st Gen ps4

I figured out how to take 60 FPS video on my phone, and might FINALLY be able to show what I've been seeing. Video coming, but it'll be a while because my upload is slow.

Need to make sure I can actually upload in 60 FPS too.

That would be interesting to see.

Re: Official frame rate issues thread.

Alright. First, the video from Kauffmann, where I rarely experience this problem (and certainly didn't here). Apologies for the screen shake (although it certainly confirms the 60 FPS with that smooth shake! ) and background noise (I had two different baseball games going before I realized and killed the audio for the 2nd video).

Make absolutely sure before viewing that the quality is set to either 720p60 or 1080p60 - I don't know if it will automatically set itself to that. The telltale sign of 60 FPS will be that screen shake at :05 - it's a smoothness that you don't commonly find in internet video.

The reason I need 60 FPS to demonstrate this is because no one would be able to perceive a problem if the highest the video could go was 30 FPS. This is the closest approximation to what I am actually seeing on my monitor, as I'm seeing it.

Anyway, watch the pitches coming in to Granderson and see how smooth the ball's flight is. I can't pick out individual frames of that animation if I tried - it's one object in smooth motion all the way in to home plate.

That's what it's supposed to look like, (and what it did look like last year when that graphics downgrade took over after selecting a pitch), and if it looked like that in all parks and conditions, I'd be in heaven. But unfortunately, with the second video I'm uploading, that's not the case. It'll be up soon - hang tight.

I am trying to watch your video but I am getting an error occurred please try again latter message. Edit now it worked and yeah that is how my game looks 100% of the time smooth.

Re: Official frame rate issues thread.

Here's the second one, and my proof of this problem existing.

(sorry, I'm going to make you dizzy again in the beginning - gotta get my camera close to the monitor!

                <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/939p6QHFgM0?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

There's a few pitches where it's easier to see than others, but the problem is definitely present all throughout on every pitch. The flight of the ball is not smooth - it appears to skip frames as compared to the first video. It's hard to notice on the straight balls Stroman throws because the ball doesn't move from its original release point very much. But, on the third pitch, and ESPECIALLY the slider he throws at the end, the ball moves significantly off its release point and it really appears to skip.

I want to elaborate on the slider because that's a perfect example of why people find this to be an issue. Of course, when it's that far outside I'm not going to swing at it. But, when it ends up closer to the plate than that (as it often is), I'm getting exactly half of the ball's animation frames that I should be getting to make a swing decision. That makes pitches like this VERY hard to hit or lay off of. And that's why the framerate being lower in some stadiums than others is a problem.

I am still loving this game despite this - and I bat successfully despite it on HOF which is a real challenge. So this isn't "ruining the game" for me, per se. But it's there. And I would definitely like to hear input from the others claiming this problem now that I could finally show proof of it. Is it the same thing you're seeing during batting?

Maybe it's cause u were having a hard time holding the phone steady but I couldn't really see much as to fps issues.......

I can easily see what he is talking about. You notice the frame rate slowdown more as the ball gets closer to the plate.

This is exactly how 30 fps on mlb.tv looks compared to 60, you see multiple balls instead of one smooth looking ball.

If there was a drop in fps it wasn't much....a significant drop in fps would cause a stutter or millisecond freeze to gameplay and I am just not seeing that to pitches delivered, however I do notice it on cutscenes but I always have on the show........seems like it's a mountain out of a mole hill this year for some reason

I don't see any thing there either outside of maybe the last pitch but even then if it was it was really small like maybe it was at 28 FPS instead of 30 hardly noticeable. I have yet to see any thing that shows real proof.

bcruise's videos are a good representation of The Show's performance. I would describe it as a constant judder and irregular hitches.

It's no big deal man, if you can't see it then enjoy it and move on. No need to fight a fight if it doesn't matter to you.

He showed a video that shows clear stuttering. Until your defense of it is something more than "I don't see it" you're probably better off to just move on from the discussion.

It's not like he's saying it's making the game unplayable or anything and I know he very much enjoys the game as do most of us.

Is the frame rate dropping in other parts of the game aside from hitting/pitching? I am one of the lucky ones who isn't sensitive to it so I have a hard time seeing it. I am guessing everybody has the frame rate issue in their game but some of us just don't notice it. So is there another place beside hitting where the frame rate drop is more noticeable?
