Re: My only complaint
Turn CPU strike zone frequency down. I play on Vet+ for batting and have it at 1. I strike out 6-12 times every game. -
Re: My only complaint
Have you turned the pitch speed to a maximum 100, that would also help in addition to the above suggestion, possibly.Comment

Re: My only complaint
Actually, I like that there's not all that many swings and misses, especially on pitches in the zone.
I looked up guys who had 200+ PA last year. They highest in-the-zone contact rate was 97% (Daniel Murphy). The lowest was 72% (Chris Carter). So the worst guy made contact in the zone 7-of-10 times.
Out of the zone is a different story. The worst was Alex Avila (30%). Best was Nick Markakis at 86%.
Pitching side is a similar story. Best at getting swings and misses in the zone was Kershaw at 78% contact (22% swing and miss). Worst was Mike Leake at 95% contact (5% swing and miss).
Out of the zone, best pitcher at getting misses was Tyson Ross at 49% (51% swing and miss - he had a wide disparity too, in zone 75%). Worst was Mark Buehrle (he's still around?? Colon too...Next I'll see Jamie Moyer lol) at 85.3% (14.7% swing and miss)
So if you're making a lot of contact in the zone, that's solid. If you're making contact out of the zone with guys that have low PVis (I think that's the "if you make contact" rating) and/or high K/9 and movement ratings (the swing and miss ratings), then that might be a concern.

Re: My only complaint
Yeah - I'm on All Star, put Strike Frequency at 0 and it really challenges my eye/discipline, especially when facing a guy with good BB/9 and/or good stuff that day. Heaven help me if he has a curve, too."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Re: My only complaint
Sorry bit off topic. But yeah lowering the Strike frequency will make you see many more pitches at the corners, and will in turn produce more swings and misses.Comment
