I will check it out, I never quick steal just cue up steals so I do the quick press. If we find the quick steal does not work with multiple runners on someone should toss up a bug report.

Re: Stealing 2nd
So I played around with the manual/quick steal and it is a little funky. To me, it appears if you try to do it with the lead runner everyone behind him will go too. I then tried the manual steal with the trailing runner and it works. So for example I had first and second and I did the manual steal with the runner at first and he was the only one who took off and the runner at second stayed. I would say it warrants a bug report.Last edited by nemesis04; 04-08-2016, 03:22 PM.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: Stealing 2nd
Could you detail the exact steps that you're doing? What is the exact of buttons you're pressing? What's the situation, 1st and 3rd? Are you holding/vibrating/releasing L2 or are you simply tapping L2 once (don't hold L2, and also not multiple taps L2, just one quick tap of L2)
Also did you manage to watch the following video. Best to watch the entire video, but if you're specifically looking for stealing, jump to the @3:00 mark - 5:00. This time stamp goes further into detail on stealing (1st/3rd situations.)
Is vibrating absolutely necessary. Through brief trial and error, I've abandoned waiting for it to vibrate. I need to revisit it, but there is definitely a difference between:
Holding/Vibrating/Releasing L2 vs Simply tapping L2
I might be mistaken, but I no longer wait for the vibration (at least I don't think I wait). Holding/vibrating/releasing L2 seems to always cause all baserunners to steal.
The following youtube video definitely helped.

i point my curser to the runner on first hold r2 and relese it when the pitcher starts his windup and both runners always take offComment

Re: Stealing 2nd
That's the exact problem.
There's a major, major difference between "Holding" L2 and "Tapping" L2 once.
(A) If you want ALL runners to move, then hold L2
(B) If you only want ONE runner to move, then tap L2
I and another individual specifically said not to "hold" L2. We said to simply "tap" L2 once. More importantly, you don't have to wait until the pitcher starts his windup. Even if the pitcher stands there and does absolutely nothing, you simply push the left stick to the base runner and tap L2 once.
Forget what the pitcher does. Don't worry if he starts his windup. When the pitcher is just standing on the mound. Just point the left stick to the runner, and tap L2 once.
With runners on 1st and 3rd, disregard what the pitcher does. Do not wait until he starts his windup. Just push the left stick to 1st and tap L2 once (do not hold L2). By doing this, the runner on 1st will steal 2nd, and the runner on 3rd will stay at 3rd base.
I don't mean to be mean, but I doubt you even watch the below video if you're still having problems. The video below tells you exact what's needed. I followed the video and it definitely helped me out with stealing and base running. Please report back after you've watch the video and tried the above method.
Watch specifically from the @3:00 - 5:00 mark. The video says not to "hold" L2. The video says to "tap" L2 once.
If you've tried the above (and watch the video) and it still doesn't work, then we can further investigate. But the key is:
(1) Don't wait for the pitcher to windup. Don't worry about the pitcher.
(2) Tap L2 once (do not hold/release L2 ever).
(3) If you want ALL runners to move, then hold L2.
(4) If you only want ONE runner to move, then tap L2.

The following youtube video definitely helped.Did you try the above solution and what nemesis04 suggested?
Did you simply try holding the left stick towards the 1B for 1 second (or 2 second), and only tapping the L2 once (press down and release immediately) while the left stick is still pushed towards 1B?
Or what the heck, hold the left stick towards 1B for 5 seconds, then tap and release L2 once, then release the left stick.Okay, retried this methods multiple times and it still activated all runners. With runners on 1st and 2nd, holding the left stick towards 2nd, held down L2, released L2, still holding onto left stick, and both runners on 1st and 2nd would steal the next bag.
The only way I managed to get a single individual runner to steal was the Tap L2 (tap and release) method.
I tried again, point the left stick to 1B and simply Tap L2 (quick tap and release). That charges the runner to steal once the pitcher pitches the ball. After you do this (point the left stick to 1B and simply Tap L2), you can now solely focus on hitting. Once the pitch leaves the pitcher's hand, that one runner on 1st will attempt to steal.
Whenever I held L2/vibration/and release, with the left stick still pointed at the runner I wanted stealing, all runners would steal and advance base.
Yep, as I posted earlier, this "tap" L2 method is the one that works to control an independent runner when there are multiple runners on base.
This is why I want a baserunning and stealing base (not RTTS baserunning, but standard franchise/exhibition mode) practice mode implemented. The existing steal/baserunning in the game is from an RTTS point of view. I simply don't play RTTS.Last edited by strawberryshortcake; 04-09-2016, 09:08 PM.Comment

Re: Stealing 2nd
This doesn't work for classic base running. How do I just steal second without the man on 3rd taking off!Comment

Re: Stealing 2nd
I'll try to test it out now/later/within the hour/tonight and report back.
Well, just did what eF 5ive suggested.
I think what maybe confusing is the word "vibration." Don't worry about the controlling vibrating. Let's just assume your controllers vibration doesn't work at all. Also do not wait until the pitcher's windup. Just queue the steal when the pitcher is standing still and doing absolutely nothing on the mound. Don't worry about the pitcher.
Circle = 1st base
Triangle = 2nd base
Square = 3rd base
X = home plate
Situation: Runner on 1st and 3rd. If you only want the runner on 1st to steal 2nd while the runner on 3rd stays glued to 3rd base, hold Circle (1st base, runner on 1st), then simply tap L2 once. Do not ever hold L2, just tap L2 once quickly. Do NOT need to tap L2 repeatedly. Just tap L2 once.
Do not worry about the "vibration." Ignore the vibration. Because when I think about waiting for the controller to vibrate, I think about holding L2 down, and that causes everyone to run.
Situation: Runner on 1st and 2nd. If you only want the runner on 2nd to steal 3rd while the runner on 1st stays glued to 1st base, hold Triangle, then simply tap L2 once. Do not ever hold L2, just tap L2 once quickly.
Do not worry about the "vibration." Ignore the vibration. Because when I think about waiting for the controller to vibrate, I think about holding L2 down, and that causes everyone to run.
Because you want to avoid making a mistake,
(A) FIRST hold down the button where the base runner is (Circle/Triangle/Square/X button),
(B) THEN wait 1 second (while still holding down (circle/triangle/square/ or x button),
(C) THEN, press L2 once (do NOT hold/vibration/release L2), just quickly tap L2 one time,
(D) Then, release the button corresponding to the base runner (release circle/triangle/square/x)
Hold O, Tap L2 until you feel the vibration. Hold circle and tap L1 prior to the first combo if you want to take a lead before stealing.
Tapping L2 with the base runner will have the CPU perform the steal. I believe holding L2 will allow you to do a manual jump on the steal. I use the second option for people who don't have a good steal rating.Last edited by strawberryshortcake; 04-09-2016, 10:32 PM.Comment
