The awards need to be completely revamped. Especially Gold Glove awards.

There needs to be some type of system in place that keep track of spectacular catches throughout the year (even for simulated games) that would potentially be a factor for Gold Glove awards.

Along with that, the other awards need tweaking as well. All awards are not just based on certain statistics and the Cy Young is too heavily weighted on wins.

not too mention they need to fix the gold glove under the defensive lineup. like in my Mariners Franchise, it keeps showing that Logan Forsythe(tampa bay rays) 2nd baseman was 2015 gold glover, when in Fact it was really Jose Altuve who won it.

        Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?

Love MLB 16, it's my first year playing The Show since I recently got the PS4 but I absolutely love the game. Graphics are out of this world and the game feels so realistic. I have NBA 2K17 as well but I've been playing The Show alot more!

Things I want to see for 17:

        - More realistic textured grass during gameplay
        - More realistic textured baseball (make seams on the ball more visible)
        - Keep adding variety of hits
        - Adding more natural animations when transitioning from catching a ball to throwing
        - Make player/manager/umpire mouths move when interacting with each other
        - Scan more players/managers faces into the game
        - Make the reporter look more realistic
        - Continue adding more dynamic commentary
        - Add more stadium/crowd sounds
        - Add bench clearing dust-ups after hitting batter multiple times and ump warnings
        - Add the ability to see what kind of uniform the CPU opposition will be wearing during gameday
        - During franchise/season mode, show what kind of special event/promotion on the calendar it is (throwback day, mother's day with the pink bats etc)
        - Add rivalries between teams (eg Toronto vs. Texas, Boston vs. NYY)
        - Add more cut-scenes of the city you are playing in

Please let MLB The Show 17 take advantage from all the great benefits of the PS4 PRO!

I don't want to find out I wasted money on upgrading for nothing. lol

One thing that i would like to see is the game recognising that a team has a new manager. For example it could be 2031 and the commentators will say "lets have a look a Bruce Bochys SF team today" when he hasn't been manager of the Giants for over 10 years.

Surely the game can recognise when a change like this happens.

MLB 17 Online Franchise is the worst of all sports games. This needs to change. Look at the options NBA has this year, MLB needs to follow suit this is the direction gaming is headed.

I'll go ahead and guess that they won't be removing the horrible Showtime system next year, so I want the actual ability to disable it this time.

Baserunning and Fielding still use it even with it disabled, even though we were told numerous times before release that it would be completely optional.

                    Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?

Ok...so after taking an extended break for MLB The Show 16 and playing Madden 17 and now NBA 2K17, I fired up 16 this morning and started playing my 1987 Yankees franchise in year 2 and also prepped for Spring Training for my Cardinals Fantasy Franchise entering year 2 coming off my first ever World Series win on any iteration of The Show.

The game plays amazing. I still love it to death. And boy did I miss it. It was a nice break after playing literally every day since 3/31/16 through 8/26/16.

But the post season has given me the itch again and i am back at it and The Show is again in my sports game rotation. Simply put....Baseball is better.

So what do I want to see for 17. I will preface this by saying, I really really need to see some significant upgrades to really entice me to purchase 17 on release. I am seriously considering on passing up the game on release, till it is well into the late summer and far cheaper if nothing really changes in the way of the core game play. Of course I will eventually get it to transfer my franchises and my plethora of classic rosters, but if it is essentially the same game with fine tuning I am not doing the release day thing.

I really think the game is being maxed out right now for the most part. Maybe I am wrong (hope I am to be honest), but I felt 16 was as good as it has ever been in terms of the core gameplay (for me personally) and my style of play.

I loved the new personality system, contracts, and ball physics. What I would love to see for 17?

MLB Network implementation on a grand scale. This is really a big thing for me. Why? Well if you play NBA 2K17 you will see what a AAA sports games presentation should be top to bottom. It is simply my gold standard now. While The Show is very good IMO with SOTS (my god did that change this game for me big time) it's off the field and in particular during the game that really needs a makeover.

                    1) In game stat's, matchups, historical numbers vs ABC pitcher vs ABC hitter, 2K's baseball game was sub par, but their presentation was really on point with this aspect. Also please bring back my batter walk up stats for every AB. I want those season stats always shown and updated like they used to be. And in the post season also....show their season stats and post season stats every AB.

                    2) In Franchise we need a true Hot Stove show for the off-season and Quick Pitch (around the league weekly highlight show) show. I know daily would be crazy, and I like the radio show for the daily aspect while you are doing roster work, prospect scouting, training, etc. But being able to trigger a weekly around the league highlight show would bring such life to Franchise mode.

                    3) In season/in game presentation - What happened to trades being talked about during broadcasts? I did not see it on 16. While the commentary has certainly become more dynamic, I still hear too many repeated lines way too early into my season. I fully understand over 162 games it will repeat and repeat often. But at least let me get 35-40 games in before I hear the same tired lines about throwing curve balls for strikes and not wanting to face the on deck batter with men on base LOL. It needs a lot more work to keep it fresher for longer for those of us who grind through 162 games.

                    4) Real assistant coaches or the ability to edit them however we want to add to the authenticity.

                    5) Minor League rehab assignments coming off injury - I really would love to see this. It will make the game that much more authentic. And since we have that ability to play minor league games....it would be cool to get a few rehab games in to make sure our player is good to go.

                    6) Off-Season Hot Stove - Make the off season even more robust (alive) and dynamic. Have a Hot Stove show recapping all the big name free agent signings and winter meeting trades. Whether that is text via news paper or an audio radio show or video show...I don't really care, but I want a one stop shop to recap the off-season around the league without me having to cycle through

                    7) Gameplay - While I feel 16 plays a heck of a game of console baseball, I would love to see further improvement of hit variety and also cutting down the over abundance of foul outs to the catcher. Seriously.....it's over done since the move to PS4. too many catchers have cat like reflex's and get to almost every pop foul hit either behind them or to the side of them....it's kinda crazy. It needs to be made more organic and not so automatic. I would also love to see a catcher IQ implemented for those of us who use API. I want to see top tier catchers who call great games and I want to see green rookies who call mistake pitches more often than the savvy veterans. It can be a dynamic system too in conjunction with adding a training feature to help improve it and also it can regress with some much older catchers who are beat up and maybe took a few too many foul tips off the mask. But I would like to see something like that. A high IQ catcher should know each of their pitchers and every hitters makeup (hot zones/cold zones) and call a good game. Again dice roll it and make it dynamic and give Catchers tiers based on real MLB data.

So again fine tuning the game to really add more immersive presentation elements and rating/AI elements that play to the Pitcher/Batter showdown which is the core element of baseball and for me the most enjoyable part of playing The Show. Pitching and hitting is 75% of the fun in this game. I think they improved fielding and throwing a ton on the new console and hope they continue to enhance that aspect as well. The animations on 16 are excellent. Yes they still need improvement in terms of infield and outfield urgency on plus runners and slower hit balls. We need to see that recognition by the AI as well as those of us who like to auto field/manual throw.

I hope to see great things for 17 and the team to make it a must buy for me on 3/31/17!!!!

                    Surprise me gents!!!

                        Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?

I've seen a lot of the same things asked for, so I'll try and focus on things that haven't been said much:

                        1. Banners/Trophy Presentation/World Series Celebration, etc... In NBA 2k, before the first game of your season, if you won the championship, you see the team raising the banner of their championship and receiving their rings. Just certain ceremonies seem to be in order.. I'm the type of guy who will play every single game of a season, and the payoff of winning the World Series just doesn't seem worth it for all that work... After you win the World Series, you celebrate almost exactly the same as you do when you win any playoff series, plus a couple of reaction slow-mos... The most frustrating part is that when they present the World Series trophy, it's someone on your bench who hoists it. Doesn't make too much sense.

                        2. Being able to change teams once you've started a Franchise Mode. A simple "Team Select" option would be pretty cool to have... If you want to leave the team that you've built into a juggernaut, then take a lowly team in your division to the promised land, it is completely impossible.

                        3. The Yankees uniforms... There needs to be an overhaul. Hopefully, player models got the re-vamp that they've been needing and this gets addressed, but the Yankee uniforms just feel fake. The bright whites and nearly-black midnight blue just doesn't have the gusto in the game that it has in real life. The placement of the interlocking NY & the number on the back just seem to not be where they should be, making playing with them boring, especially in a 162-game season when that uniform is essentially your only option.

                        4. Player-specific animations/celebrations... This was an awesome addition to this year's game, but the situation was almost a little too specific for each animation to be triggered... I believe that (to reference NBA 2k again), it makes sense for each player to be able to have a specific animation that he does in every situation that is customizeable... If you want your CAP 1st Baseman to "walk the parrot" like Encarnacion, bat flip like Bautista, tip his cap when he touches home like McCutchen, then greet the person on-deck like Josh Donaldson, you should be able to customize each one of those steps. This also applies to pitchers... If a pitcher has a signature "move" they do (like when Brian Wilson used to throw up the "X" after closing games), then you should be able to select that specific animation for your pitcher.

I agree that Online Franchise desperately needs some love, but I really truly hope that online is not the direction video games, especially sports games, are going. I will always be an offline franchiser in any sports game. Keep the trolls away from me!

It would be nice to be able to trade a player who is still under team control but has not yet settled on a new contract for the coming year (arbitration eligible players, contract renewal players or minor league players awaiting new contracts).

Just came up with another one that I would like to add to next years game.

I would like to be able to save our profile to the hard drive. I personally use dynamic difficulty in my franchise. Well last night I installed my new 2TB Hard Drive and of course The Show was my first install. So now I have to start completely over with my DD settings. That just sucks.
