Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
They come here and are very open with us. If we want to keep that interaction we can't go around accusing them of being lazy if you don't know all the factors that go into it.
If you want to talk about something you don't like, feel free to do so.
One thing I can guarantee you though is that they aren't lazy and it's wrong to accuse them of that. Especially when you know absolutely nothing about everything they do.Comment

You're right, that was snarky of me. For that, I apologize. I just don't really like the accusation of lazy developers when they've explained many times over why that can't be done.

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
I know it is pretty much too late to want something added but....
I've been playing a lot more manage mode and sportscast manager games lately. I really like how you can enter the game from the sportscast manager. I would like to see where you can go back and forth between sportscast manager/manage only mode/normal mode.
That would be a great way to speed up game play for someone like me who wants to "feel" like they have control over the game and doesn't want to just "sim" it out.Comment

The ability to edit payroll budgets for teams in Franchise mode, instead of it just being based on what their current payroll is. With the latest OSFM roster, a team like the Phillies have a payroll budget of only about $120m, because this year they are cutting costs, but in reality they have the potential to be a $180m+ payroll when they start pushing again. Same for the Yankees, they've cut a lot of payroll, but are punished for it on the current system, rather than rewarded with a large chunk of available payroll for the upcoming mental free agency in 2 years. By contrast, a team like the Royals is probably above what level it actually wants it's payroll to consistently be at because they really went for it to win the World Series, but on this they aren't hampered by that.
If you could set the team payrolls, or they were linked to some kind of system that acknowledged the size of the teams market, it would far better portray why teams need to dump salary and give more realistic bouncebackability for the teams currently regrouping.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
If I could have one wish outside of improved defensive game play not exactly just for the CPU but for User Controlled players and the ability to completely turn off any form of bullet time events ( I just cringe when I think about it from a game play perspective even after 162+ games played) not to be confused with ShowTime!
My wish would be that my CPU teammates become more aggressive as the game intensifies and season progresses. More agression in the all aspects of the game! fielding, base running, pitching and at the plate. Any division playoff game is a great reference to draw from.
The sport mentality of doing anything to win would be awesome for the AI instead of trying to always place your controlled (player locked) player in those close situations.
MLB 17 needs to be a huge turning point for gameplay especially defense and not modes. This will be the fourth year not counting previous console years for the game.
Year to year saves are wonderful.
I understand dev cycles are not long and the thought, dedication it takes of putting in a 9-5+ in but MLB 17 will definitely solidify the direction of the series!Proud member of the 0.04%Comment

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
I haven't read all posts in this thread, so I apologize if this has been suggested:
I'm hopeful, based on the Pre-Beta preview we've seen, that RttS player/manager interactions have been expanded. We all know there are issues regarding the timing of call-ups. Being called up to the big leagues only to ride the bench 90% of the time as a pinch hitter or whatever. It would be nice if you could ask to be sent back down to the minors.
I abandoned a RttS 3rd baseman in MLB 16 because he was called up mid season and only got 40 At-bats the rest of the season, then proceeded to get only sporadic pinch hit at-bats the following season.
To go along with this, have it actually be possible to get traded after asking for a trade. This has rarely worked in the past games. This can also go with the expanded interactions. Complain about not getting enough playing time by either asking to be sent down or asking to be traded. So just in general, more effective and sensible actions around the whole manager interaction feature in RttS.Comment

I have had the request a trade work many times. 6 teams in a year and a half. Agree with the rest. Really looking forward to 17

Pitchers that can hit - Last year, at least once that I know of Madison Bumgarner batted for the DH when playing in the AL. Plus we are a year maybe two from welcoming SP/OF Shohei Otani to the big leagues. I believe he could be a legit two way playerComment

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
It bugs me when current alternate uniforms are left out of the game because there isn't enough space. Why do we have to have so many throwback uniforms for each team that are very similar or just plan blank white jerseys. I'd love to have the Rangers white home with red hat, undershirt etc.

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
The difference is the white home only allows the blue undershirts and batting helmets. You can select the alternate bottoms to get the red socks and you can select the red cap, but you can't replicate their entire alternate 1 home look. I'd like to be able to have all red as the Rangers wore that for several home games the last few years.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
As I am doing roster editing the following occurs to me:
After I edit a player, please remember what the position filter was set on and take me back there instead of the 'ALL' screen.
So if I am editing 2B, take me back to the 2B page.Comment
