Re: Watching MLB; If "This" Would Have Happened In The Show Thread

My closer who hadn't blown a save all season blew the game TWICE - once in the 9th and again with a walkoff in the 10th after I scored again to re-take the lead.

Oh btw I'm in a pennant race with this opponent.

Kershaw blowing a 4 run lead? c'mon sandiego, thats just not realistic.
and 25 runs? what did you guys model that on, the '93 WS?

The auto baserunning is trying to cheat me risking injury. Max Scherzer does not steal bases, even when he's channeling his inner Ohtani.

Game is cheating. Just made me walk in the go ahead run with Greg Holland.

The comeback code in this game is unreal. I was up 5 in the eighth against the Sawks and even their best hitter went out with a phantom injury (no animation, just slid after the ball and he was hurt). I had 2 outs and they come back to beat me. Nice coding!

Try this one: 2 out with the winning run on second, and I get the guy to hit a pop up in front of the plate. Only the game doesn't let me control my catcher or pitcher to catch it....instead the first baseman automatically runs toward home way past the marker for where the ball will land and I lose on a 20 foot infield pop up! Way to go Show controls!

Routine grounder to the outfield and my LF missed the ball allowing a run to score from first.

                  Fielding is broken!

Red Sox 8th inning comeback scoring 6 runs on two outs, and the go ahead with the final strike.

It is only 'comeback code' when the CPU does it though, amirite?

Exactly. When I do it, that's just baseball. Okay that's not entirely true. I'm sure my keen analytical mind plays no small role in it.

The RedSox just put up two touchdowns (with extra points) on the Yankees.

Hitting is way too easy this year.

I must be doing something wrong then. This weekend I had bases loaded nobody out down by a run in extra inning and Aaron Judge at the plate. I time my swing perfectly, checking the replay afterwards to make sure it looks like the ball was going through the bat, and all it did with Aaron Judge's mightiest swing was roll to the pitcher for a force out at home. What is worse is the cheating game has the catcher get the second out at third, not at first! No one does that in real life. To top things off Stanton is my next hitter, and I can't touch the ball from Brad Brach (Brach!) with Stanton! Game over. How do you hit in this game. I mean, I struck out 5 times with Stanton in that game....when in real life does Stanton ever strike out five times in a game? Maybe I should edit his name to Mike or something like that because they didn't program Giancarlo's swing properly!

I take back anything I've ever said negatively about the Show; I just played one of the most entertaining rivalry games you could hope to have, a Yankees-Red Sox affair. And Manfred is wrong about pace of play. The best part of the game was not the actual play but the gentlemanly discussion between the two teams in the 3rd & 7th inning. Sony should have pushed harder for brouhaha's years ago.

Also glad to see facemasks for the cold weather to make it into equipment to choose from. Lot more stylish than those helmet sideshields they also added.

I understand the necessary evil that is rocket bunts, but yesterday I hit a double off of a check swing with the Cubs Ian Happ.

We do NOT need rocket check swings

(except for Jose Canseco in classic rosters. Heck, if you hit him in the head with a pitch, Jose could get a double for that too).

I would swear I saw Reggie Jackson get a triple off a half swing end of the bat shot that hugged the thirdbase line and rolled to the left field corner with the outfield all shifted toward right. By the time the left fielder got to the ball and got it in Reggie was standing on third. Total accident but perfectly placed.
