Yeah there is no pickoff rating for pitchers in the game.

There has been discussion, and there actually is a rating (although I am not sure if this value is kept up to date). It was tabled during the PS3 era due to the large number of animations it would require to do it the way we wanted. I am not sure where it sits on the design priority list, but I will bring it up again.

Wow, that's surprising. Seems like an obvious and easy thing to implement. Wouldn't it just be a modifier on whatever algorithm exists that determines the likelihood of picking off the CPU? And for Human opponents, a modifier that adjusts the speed of the pick off move?

I'm no programmer, so I apologize if I'm overstepping my bounds.

            Re: Pick-offs

Here's one thing that has been bugging me... in baseball the runner can have a safe lead as much as the defender will allow him. For example I was just in a game where I could take a safe two step lead from second base and still have the shortstop to my right.

I see the shortstop begin to run to second base, which takes a moment because they had some shift on in which he was playing pretty far off, so of course I hit R1 I can't even tell you how many times, yet my runner DOES. NOT. MOVE.

If we see them moving in to position for a pickoff BEFORE the pitcher even turns around to throw it, why can't we react? It's like it's just stuck there and you have to watch it happen. What's the point of even taking a lead then in this game? Or am I doing something wrong? Press R1 - runner should retreat back. Not stand there.
