Excuse my ignorance: I don't understand why I have to use 2 different logs ins to control all the teams?
I have just powered up MLB16, and wonder why cant you simply log in and select ALL teams on just the single log in?
Surely, if I select ALL the teams, then in Franchise mode I can control all the teams, and thusly carry out any trades I so wish?
Or am I totally missing something?
I want to play= as the Nats, but sim the other teams fixtures, but at the same time, want to make trades as they happen in real life?

It just comes down to user preference and how do you want to play the game. The idea of setting up two profiles generally comes with the thought that a player is going to entirely manage all aspects of one team, but does not want to control and get bogged up with prompts from the remaining 29 teams. So with the two profiles you would have yours set for the one team that you want to control with most settings on manual, whereas the other profile will have most of the settings turn to Auto so the CPU is automatically handling day-to-day task throughout the MLB season.

Now if you were wanting to completely control the entire baseball universe one said profile would work but you would be prompt every single time there is an injury and when that player needs to return, call UPS and call Downs, re-signings and contract negotiations, not to mention fixing lineups game-by-game when they become invalid along with pitching rotations and many more tasks. That's why many people prefer the two profiles so that they aren't spending more time fixing franchises instead of playing games., not to mention fixing lineups game by game when did become invalid along with pitching rotation and many more task. Exactly. Right now in 17 I'm in spring training and I'm painstakingly going through team by team to option some players of the 40 to give others out of options the opportunity to perform in the spring before I decide who stays and who gets designated for every team. It takes alot of time (including lineup/rotation changes) for all teams. Others will choose to manage one club and let the CPU handle the others, hence the second profile.

One thing for folks to keep in mind is that you can set the CPU to 'auto' trade but if you control all 30 teams, you can see proposed trades between the CPU GMs, and can go in and reject the trade if you wish. This is a way that folks can let the CPU handle some day to day chores but not allow wacky trades like McCutcheon and Posey for Tyler Wade for example. If you sim several days though such trades may go through. Some like to turn the CPU to manual trading from April to end of June and then switch the CPU profile to auto for the July trade deadline deals. It is all a matter of what you're looking for out of your game.

No that doesn’t make a difference either I tried that before the other team still say it’s not fair I ended up having to give up a fake player lucky was a top 50 prospect.

I’m someone that updated franchise players at the same time as playing then waiting around for rosters I take videos of players and add them to game as I go . So this is a pain in the arse

If you were referring to my work around, I tested it to make sure, and it absolutely DOES work.

Example.

You are the Tigers, and want to trade for Manny Machado. The trade you offer the Orioles is fair, but the Orioles give the message that they should receive more value, so they decline.

If you offer the exact same trade as the Orioles to the Tigers, the Tigers will accept, because they feel they are getting the better deal

It absolutely works.

When setting up the other profile settings what difficulty settings do you use do you match what yours are? For instance I use all-star hitting and HOF pitching for my profile do you set it to match for the 29 other teams?

One thing that really bothers me on set up 30 team control is about the in-game itself: unfortunally there's no results bar.

Just simulate the games before playing yours & it should show the result!

In previous versions I have not had this issue. How early in the season are you? To test you can put a stud with a low salary on the trade block to see if you get offers. I found they used to pick up in the July time frame for the trade deadline (is it still July? they change the rules so often now.)

I saw some posts regarding this issue in this thread but it was for 2016, I've simulated full seasons with players on the block and never get trade offers, any help would be beneficial. I may try it again, per the thread, there was an issue with not touching anything on the initial screen where it always starts with the Orioles.

hmm...if you simulate a season though you wouldn't be in there to accept...thus no one would move. However, your email should have also shown trade requests so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about.

No, I'm just simulating between phases, if I do the same thing with single team control I receive pop-ups notifying me of a trade offer. I just simmed through the trade deadline with my trade block consisting of Freeman, Acuna, Albies, etc. and the trade slider at 10. CPU made probably a hundred trades amongst themselves, not a single offer to me (the only user-controlled team).

I checked the Inbox, etc. nothing.

I can initiate and make trades no problem, but I never get prompted from the CPU.
