Re: How are Single A teams not in the game?
The thing is, if they added A Ball to the game, then someone will complain why there isn't low A and high A, and then what about the Arizona Fall League? Or Rookie Ball? Winter ball? Independent leagues? What about the KBL or NPB or the Taiwan league?
Actually that'd be a hell of a game, but absolutely massive and would probably make my PS4 shriek with the processing power needed. Anyhow, non-playable A ball is fine to tuck away roster fillers and draft picks. This is the deepest sports game out there that isn't Football Manager, but even then that game is very much limited to your computer's set up. The Show gives you the full game.
Having just read the thread about the 30 year progression, I think SCE has made a great baseball game into a tremendous baseball game. There will never ever be a perfect game (or anything in this world) but does it work? Yes. Is it fun? For sure. Does it touch on realism more than occasionally? You bet. I can't wait for OSFM V2 to come out and start the game properly.Super XV: Crusaders
ITM Cup: Canterbury
MLB: New York Mets
Bundesliga: FC Schalke 04Comment

Re: How are Single A teams not in the game?
Go through my post history and then get back to me. Very unfair of you to call me an apologist when I've had my fair share of complaints for years.
I know you see the green name and think I'm just a defender but I'm no different then you. Read through my posts. If you still think I'm an apologist PM me and let me know why.
I'm playing devil's advocate here; I'm not arguing for every level of minor league ball, J and K league, etc., but such a thing is feasible...Comment

Re: How are Single A teams not in the game?
That just sounds silly to me. They must have the license already to a point because they do have there logos in the game already. If they cant use there real life uniforms just make fake ones or something and its not like they need to have a license for ball parks because the AA and AAA teams in the game all play in fake ball parks. So why not do the same thing for single A?
And if you think its silly they don't spend $$$ on licensing 30 Single A teams, then maybe you can donate the money to them to do so.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Anyone who plays DD and buys the online currency is donating basically. Trust me SDS won't be hurting for money.Comment

Re: How are Single A teams not in the game?
I haven't seen any A team logos, or even team cities mentioned, but I do see that the Show uses the MLB teams Single A affiliate's nickname in game. I wonder if they have to pay for that?T-BONE.

Re: How are Single A teams not in the game?
When I'm tinkering with rosters, sometimes I won't realize I'm tring to put too many players in Single A and once you try to put more than 40, you get a message, like for example, the Orioles, "The Keys have reached their roster limit."T-BONE.

Re: How are Single A teams not in the game?
Advertising vs. licensing is an interesting thing. On the one hand, you might try to get paid if you know somebody wants to use your IP. On the other hand, if you're a small concern and would be happy to have your product shown off on a bigger stage, you might even pay for that opportunity (i.e., advertising).
We know from all the zany game-day gimmicks that minor league teams aren't shy about trying to attract people to their brand. As such, you wouldn't think a major, popular video game would have to pay much to get licensing from A-ball teams. That said, I have no idea what it would cost.Comment

Re: How are Single A teams not in the game?
All those FIFA twitch streamers spends hundreds to thousands of dollars on a weekly basis (daily if there is a big event like TOTY), even if The Show only gets half of that that's at least a couple million. Single A licensing and money spent to get them into the game would be in the low thousands. Still ton of profit margin there from DD alone.Comment

Previously you were an expert on how to code games until your britches got caught on your own pitchfork. Now you're an expert in how much money SDS and FIFA makes and the costs of the licensing for Single A ballclubs.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
