I keep making the same stupid decision. I don't know if it a bug or not, but I keep overrunning the base and accidentally take off for another and I get thrown out. I think it is a bug though since it is happening too often.

Re: What bone headed mistakes have you made?
I should be banned from running the bases. Multiple runners on the same base, unassisted double plays on liners. Auto isn't aggressive enough for me and i just press too many buttons.
Although last night I stole second, while attempting to steal third the catcher launched the ball into left field, so I manged to get a walk off in the bottom of the 13th on a real bonehead play.
Yeah auto is a pain in the *** sometimes but I know from past baseballe games and RTTS that I'm too aggressive sometimes with base running.
When I have a runner on third with less than two outs I always try to squeeze and the bunt always doesn't connect :/Comment

Re: What bone headed mistakes have you made?
I mentioned this in another thread, but once I sent Kris Bryant to steal home when I had to scratch an itch. Several other times I forgot what inning it was, and brought in my closer in the 7th.Would the lady who left her nine kids at Wrigley Field please pick them up immediately? They are beating the Cubs 4-0 in the 7th inning!Comment

That reminded me, does anyone notice that the AI steals home very often with runners on the corners? They always manage to score on meComment

Re: What bone headed mistakes have you made?
I once called for a "triple steal" in an older version of the game by accidentally pressed the button against my knee (was resting the controller on my leg).
I did it again. Bases loaded, I lost track of the count - I thought it was 3-2 (it was 2-2), so I wanted everyone to go. If it was a strike, I'd contact swing. If it's a ball - well it's a walk.
It was a ball...ball three.
Oops.
That reminds me of the time when I was new to this game and baseball in general (a year ago). With two outs and 3-2 count and a runner on first you send the runner right?
Well, in the bottom of the 9th with only one out, 3-2 count, we're down one, and I'm standing on third. The moment I took off for home plate I had a moment of clarity. "Hey wait a minute, if the batter doesn't make contact I'm gonna get caught stealing". He didn't make contact and indeed I was CS. Game over. After a few minutes of screaming at myself I burst into hysterical laughter. Guess it was a good lesson because I haven't tried it again and now I'm VERY aware of what to do when running the bases.Comment

Pretty much all of my mistakes involve base running.#LFC

Re: What bone headed mistakes have you made?
I dove into the wall in foul territory at Busch stadium instead of hitting the jump button and put Stephen Piscotty on the DL for 1-2 months with a fractured wrist.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: What bone headed mistakes have you made?
Game tied in the bottom of the 9th with runners on 2nd & 3rd, less than 2 outs. CPU attempts a suicide squeeze, batter gets the bunt down but it was still near the plate....
Can't remember if my catcher got there first or not but I went into auto pilot and threw to third instead of getting the lead runner heading towards the plate. Game over, mets lose.Comment

Attempting a suicide squeeze but letting go on triangle and the runner on third well you know the restComment

Re: What bone headed mistakes have you made?
I think there is a cheat code where my brain freezes. I forget how many outs there are and fail to go for the double play. I usually get burned in that inning and lose by a run. Should I change my brand of beer?Steelers, Penguins, Penn State, Pirates, Red Sox, Manchester United.Comment
