    Baserunning AI?

I just had two consecutive plays where a ball was hit to the outfield, and then thrown in... the third baseman had the ball before the CPU baserunner got to third base, but the runner for some reason kept running for a ridiculously easy out at home. Twice in a row that happened...

Overall I'm seeing a lot of boneheaded baserunning, but those plays in particular were entirely absurd.

    Is anyone seeing wacky baserunning?

Yup. I had 1st and 3rd with 2 outs. I hit a screamer to right centre. The runner at 1st literally stops to see if the ball is caught. There's 2 outs. So he obviously didn't score after the ball wasn't caught. I've seen that scenario a few times actually....

I've seen it happen a bunch of times where the AI ignores all logic and runs home instead of stopping at 3rd while the catcher just waits for him with the ball... it's strange.

Just started noticing this exact issue since the latest patch.. Really sucks cause the game was fine for me before it

Cpu base running is now very much broken

Autobaserunning is still very much broken as well.

If there isn't a sufficent patch issued for this, as many months as this has been, some sort of refund needs to be in order.

            Yup.

My players and the AI players both making incredibly stupid, over aggressive baserunning errors. On my end I have to try to manually hold them up at times to save myself from easy outs.

It's honestly ridiculous at this point. Core gameplay functions not working darn near 2 months after launch.

I haven't seen anything quite as bad as what's been described, but had a play where the runner at third probably should have held up (one hopper to Ichiro - he was about to round third right when Ichiro gloved it).

It's funny because Ichiro was on second and the #2 hitter sliced a single to left field. Ichiro rounded 3rd and held up (wisely). I only use autobaserunning.

Not sure how/when/why it goes funky.

I have seen a lot of talk about this but for the most part I have not seen any problems my self. I have seen a lot of people say they see guys go for home when they are not even to 3erd base by the time the fielder throws the ball. I have never seen any thing like that. I would say the worst baserunning I have seen was on a game I was playing today. I was up 8-3 in the bottom of the 9th and the CPU had 1 out bases loaded and they hit a kind of short fly ball that I caught for out 2 and they tried to tag up from 3erd only for me to throw them out from 3erd to end the game. To try to tag up when you are down 5 in the last inning on a ball that is not a for sure score is silly you need baserunners. Even if he had scored you would still be down enough that you would need to get another baserunner to even bring the tying run to the plate. Now if you where only down 1 or something I could see maybe taking a risk on a some what short fly ball.

I have seen a few suspicious things here and there. Hopefully everyone continues to let them know what's going on. Core game play issues like this will almost certainly warrant another patch. I'd be shocked if it wasn't fixed.

I have seen this a bunch since day 1.

This bone headed cpu logic is what happens when dev time is put towards things like batboys/DD/green ivy, brown ivy/lighting etc etc etc. They need to take a year where they concentrate on game play and forget about all the fluff.

I don't think it does. That thread is about user-automatic baserunning, this thread is about CPU baserunning.

AI base running is in rough shape this year, actually rougher than last year. It needs attention and we need the CPU base running aggressiveness slider back.
