about to give up on this game need help with hitting

So, I am playing on legend difficulty as it was recommended to me as the cpu pitchers would throw more balls in order to try to set you up for strikeouts. So I have gotten good at working the count, usually can get the pitcher up close to 100 pitches and usually keep my whiffs to under 10 per game. But whenever I do make contact with the ball, it is usually a grounder or a fly ball or pop up.

It gets very frustrating, I know I can lower the difficulty but I do want a challenge, I don't want to be one of them guys who puts it on rookie, dominates and claim I am great at the game.

What camera view do you use? I have tried Fish Eye and also made my own custom view to see if that viewing angle could help me. I also wanted to ask when you are using analog hitting with stride, when do you begin to push down on the analog stick to begin your stride as I believe that could play a big role in getting a hit or getting cheap groundout/flyouts.

I watch the CPU on replay to see when they start to stride and typically it seems they do when the pitcher is at his release point or he has just released the pitch. I do use guess pitch but mainly to guess fastball high. If you guess wrong is the penalty so big that if you make contact its pretty much a guaranteed out?

Sorry this is so long, I am just desperate to be able to hit and enjoy this game as I have gotten pitching down pat. I know there are some intelligent folks on these forums who have helped me in the past.

Maybe you should try increasing the slider for human solid hits, or, bump it down a difficulty level and decrease CPU strike frequency.

When I start an at bat I guess fastball middle away. If I guess correctly, I swing. (I use classic guess pitch interface). If I guess incorrectly, I take until the CPU throws a strike. Once I get a strike I then guess a "problem pitch" to beware of, meaning a slider away or a changeup down depending on the handedness of the batter. This will allow me to avoid chasing one of those pitches if I guess it correctly. If I'm unable to guess a "problem pitch", then I just read the pitch and react.

i would change your pci graphic to Wedge for starters as this will give you a good idea of where you are making contact on the bat. as for starting your stride, i generally start mine based on what pitch i am looking for as well as how long a guy's stride is. if he has a good fastball i try and start a little earlier than usual. i also start my pci placement a little higher but not at the top. i place it so that the top of the pci is high enough to foul off high pitches. if i start my pci at the very top i tend to pull down when i get a high pitch but if i start it almost near the top then my reflexes take over and i can still hit the high heat but with weak hitters i try and foul it off rather than getting enough wood on it . "as ek would say, try and make them bring that pitch down a little bit" please forgive me for quoting ek.

When you use pure analog hitting, do you need to use the left stick or use the pci? I thought you just swung the bat?

I believe it's just pure timing with pure analog hitting, at least I think.

Pure Analog you can control the left or right with the direction you push up with the stick. The players ratings for vision/contact/ect control the up and down.

you can. you can pick zone. then you can pick analog, and then stride.
