Re: Rage Quitting: We've All Done It...
Id be lying if I said I hadn't done it. But usually if I do it in Franchise Mode i feel guilty about it and end up "rage quitting" the entire franchise. Most of the time this happens less than 1 month into the season.Chicago Cubs
Michigan Wolverines

Re: Rage Quitting: We've All Done It...
When I first saw this thread title, I had the misperception this would be mostly (not all) about quitting against online opponents.
I am pleasantly surprised it's not. It's interesting to me in that I while I can't condone online rage quitting, even in legit circumstances,
I can understand it.
Rage quitting against the CPU, is an entirely different animal. While I don't get angry & quit if the CPU is curbstomping me,
or if Clyde Washington is calling a particularly bad game, & it may be just as bad to ragequit against the CPU as it is against an online opp., I would have thought it would be easier to admit to quitting a game.
I think the Rage tag has something to do with that. I think if you remove that stigma, probably the amount of people who admit to quitting in the middle of a game, but w/o any anger and/or frustration on their part, would rise.
I had a purpose that I was leading to, but in my old age, I've lost my train of thought & gotten sidetreacked.
Oh well, I'm sure it will come back to me later.T-BONE.

You didn't lose your train of thought. The Ramble Fairy stole it. She's annoying like that."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Re: Rage Quitting: We've All Done It...
If anything was going to make me rage quit it was yesterday but I didn't. Lost a game on a sac fly from SECOND base. He scored from 2nd on a fairly deep fly ball but not warning track deep where both throws(first to cutoff man then home) were preloaded way ahead of time. The play should have at least been close but he was safe by a mile.Comment

Wow!
I'm amazed at how angry people get over video games. To get angry to the point of breaking controllers and televisions?I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Oh yea a couple times in my 45 years of playing SOM or LaRussa or The Show - but I play offline - not against a human. vs. Human - never. I don't believe people that say they never have if they play off line vs. computer.

Re: Rage Quitting: We've All Done It...
I do it a fair bit because the errors in this game are not only excessive, they upset the entire defensive sequence. Normally after a flyball out, the computer takes over and the outfielder automatically lobs the ball back in. When the catch is botched and you have to gather the ball and throw it back in late, the AI is often not prepared to catch the ball and deal with the baserunner who should've been out in the first place. It's like the fielding AI, particularly the cutoff man AI, cannot always adapt to baserunners who should've been out. Once a fielding error happens, the rest of the players on the field should just adapt to the play as if the ball in play had been a base hit, but they don't seem to be doing that.
The errors are already excessive enough, but the play after the error is so often way more disastrous than it should be.Comment
