    You cannot sign MINOR LEAGUE free agents to multi-year deals. The OP is referring to a free agent he signed to a minor league deal within the season who retired at the end of the year. The solution of signing them to multi-year contracts is not possible. A player with only minor league service time cannot be signed for more than one year of length in this game.

        It's the wrong reason but minor leaguers do retire all the time. It's odd for one with high potential and high performance to do so though, they need to fix that logic if it's totally random.
