I've looked over this thread pretty well I feel but still want to make sure I'm not missing anything. As a Samsung KS8000 owner, I already get amazing results with HDR on a regular PS4. There hasn't been any official confirmation that the Pro is going to have any added benefit for this game yet, right? I mean I know there's good reason to assume as much but since three of my friends have all had Pros crap out on them due to heating issues, I'm feeling pretty good about sticking with what I have since HDR is already supported.

I'm really not ready to buy a Pro and a new TV when I don't really need to.

I said this before the Pro even came out. The Pro is not for everyone. If you don't really feel compelled or justified to make the purchase then no bother trying to convince yourself otherwise. What the Pro offers is really cool to some people, and marginal/meaningless/not worth it to others. The PS4 is an awesome machine, you'll be fine whatever version you game on.
I'd be shocked if there wasn't some form of Pro support. Pretty sure every new game the last couple months has launched with some sort of Pro config. Some more elaborate than others. It may be a nice resolution boost, and/or better frame rate, or it may just be some improved textures filtering or better shadows. Who knows, guess we will find out soon right?
Bottom line is The Show will always be The Show no matter what you're gaming on, and The Show is awesome.

Wow! That seems like some really bad luck! Were they gaming inside a sauna or something? [emoji2]

Most Pro Mode games do. I hope The Show does as well. Love the smooth, crisp image quality provided with downsampling."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

For me, I have a Pro and I only know a handful of people who've also bought one, and a few OSers as well. I've yet to read or hear about that happening to anyone let alone 3 people.
It definitely had to be in a sauna or outdoors in the desert or something.Comment

o_O
That's easily the craziest thing I've read someone write about the Pro and it isn't even close.

Originally posted by Aeonix01Here's my thoughts.
Regarding size, I would generally use this chart found on the awesome site Rtings:
Choosing a new TV for your room can be a daunting challenge. The market has never been more complicated, with dozens of new models released each year and a mountain of marketing jargon to work through.
I find that size to distance ratio is more important than the algorithm a TV set uses to fake out motion clarity in games or for TV/Movies. Often, this motion clarity beyond 120 introduces undesirable motion effects. One such is the "Soap Opera" effect where things seems to move a bit too fast as the frame buffer data stores up information before displaying it to fill in games in motion. It can be disturbing looking in my opinion.
I would always go with size and picture quality over anything else.
The www.rtings.com site will also help in choosing the right set for you.
They have reviews with more details than one would need, but among the offerings, they have best value for TV under ___ $
The best TV under $2,000 we've tested is the Samsung S90F OLED. It's an incredible TV with fantastic picture quality.
for example.
They include details like how the set performs for various categories including games, HDR performance in TV/Movies and for Games, Latency, Lag..etc.Comment

I've only read about half of this thread, and may have missed something. How do you know this? Do you have a copy?
Do you ever see framerate drops (gameplay or cutscenes)?Comment

My experience is that general gameplay is smoother but there is still judder and crowd shots see familiar frame rate dips, but not as much. I would not described it as silky smooth.Comment

I'm gonna go ahead and close this thread since there is a newer thread confirming all this.
Here's the thread to post about this now. http://www.operationsports.com/forum...r-ps4-pro.htmlComment
