Yeah I just found that the PS4 can tell you if your tv supports HDR or not. I'll have to give that a look when I can.

Just a heads up about gaming with HDR. Make sure you turn your TV's backlight and contrast all the way up. If not the picture will look dark and washed out.

And for those with the KU6300 or KU6500 don't let anyone say its not a good gaming TV. It's been ranked in multiple list as one of the best "budget" gaming tv's. It sucks it only has UHD on port one, and it doesn't have a wide color gamut, but the HDR is good, and it's not worth paying a lot more for the higher end tv's unless you have that kind of money, which is perfectly fine, just saying you don't have to shell out a ton for a great picture.

The input lag is great in game mode as well.

As long as you save it to the cloud you shouldn't have a problem

Some TVs struggle with input lag in hdr. There are plenty that don't if you do your research they aren't hard to find. Sounds like you have a good one

I'm not trying to be rude, I just simply don't understand the reasoning. I, personally, would have probably already upgraded my console from a launch day PS4 had they just provided some details on what the new system could do for their game.

I mean, I bought PS4 pretty much for The Show and being a first party developer, with the game being finalized and the console already being realeasd, you'd think that would be enough to break the silence on the matter.

As it stands, I've allocated those new PS4 funds for something else (trip to Chicago and Wrigley in April) because of their hushness on the matter. I'm pretty much taking no word to mean minimal incentives for 2017 with the game.

Is there any benefit to the secrecy here? Are they under a gag order or embargo from speaking about until a certain date, for some reason? Just trying to make sense of the whole thing. Thanks.

Bro...just to call it out, I've been to Wrigley in April. It was more like being in Lambeau in December. Freezing cold...almost unbearable at times...almost. It's still Wrigley...just not the same feel or ambiance. Heck, the ivy isn't even grown in yet at that time.

If your schedule permits, I'd recommend going in summer. Much more fun sitting in the centerfield bleachers with 80 degree weather and the beer flowing.

                Just sayin... [emoji41]

Just picked mine up last night. You can save your application data to the cloud if you are a PS Plus member. Otherwise you can back everything up to a USB drive and restore it.

I spent several hours just reinstalling my games and then restoring all of my data files (Profiles, game saves, rosters, etc).

Was able to load my Spring Training '17 roster and play a couple Spring Training games. Gotta say the PS4 Pro gameplay is silky smooth with Boost Mode enabled!

I remember thinking that Horizon, The Show 17, and Days Gone were gonna be the first true "system sellers" for the Pro but now I can't help but worry that the Pro might have come along too far into this games dev cycle to be fully utilized

Who knows tho. Guess we will find out soon?

Game is gonna be amazing either way

But not all games do this.
I would say the very vast majority, almost all I can think of right now off the top of my head except TLOU remastered, Pro Mode supported games offer supersampling (or I guess more appropriately downsampling? Or are they the same thing?) on 1080p displays, and it is glorious.

There might be a couple that only offer some added effects or frame rate stability boost at 1080p (I think maybe Mafia 3) but that seems few and far between

The real beauty is the games that offer a choice between resolution or frame rate, like Nioh and Tomb Raider. Would be cool to have this option in sports games

                      EDIT:

After posting this, I researched a little and found out there seems to be 8-9 games that don't offer any supersampling for 1080p displays.

It is a good TV for sure, but the fact that it does not have a wide color gamut means the HDR cannot be good. Proper HDR requires a wide color gamut.

I know it's not as good as HDR with wcg, proper, real, or whatever you wanna call it. But I wouldn't say it's bad. There is still a noticeable improvement over non-HDR content.

Plenty of reviews will also agree with that. But I do know it's not as good as it could be. I'm not in denial lol. I'm just ok with it. It was the best TV I could afford.

But anyway, lets move on from TV talk, I didn't mean to keep going off-topic.

I just ordered a pro. I should get it the middle of this week. I hope that 17 will have an option between 4k and 1080p. So you can take advantage of the hardware. I do have a 4k tv. It's usually being used, but I'm going to have to try it.😆

Going to pick up a PS4 pro today. I went ahead and got a 4K tv as well with the Sony X800D 49". Is it the 28th yet?

As for the Pro system itself, I love it. Mine is much more quiet for the most part than the standard version. I also have a Samsung KS8000 and man, .. 4K (Checkerboard) on the Pro + HDR on games like Horizon Zero Dawn is amazing. I like playing MLB The Show 16 on it using Boost Mode, but Boost mode can cause issues for certain games being that the base frame rate is no longer locked. So, it does take some fiddling.

The KS8000 TV HDR implementation with the PS Pro is odd in that the set doesn't necessarily remember to auto-boost the brightness to full bright and you have to do that manually, but I haven't noticed an issue. I followed Rtigns set up when I got it for all modes prior to using it with an input source. No issue yet.
I've noticed the full bright issue as well, I do get the popup that a HDR video is playing though. Just out of curiosity, what HDR mode do you get when you go into Video Information within the PS4 Pro? I'm getting YUV422 with Ghost Recon.
